WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

From what I read a few weeks back both Eade and Williams are barred from any future coaching interviews until their respected team has finished it's season (including finals). This was something the AFLCA have put in place.

PJ has simply contacted their agents to touch base and to obviously have the message passed on that we are keen.

I believe Richmond has given us Permission to interview choco and Collingwood refused with Eade, i was told we were interviewing choco for the first time the week of the Brisbane game in Darwin.

I hope your right.

It was on the AFL website i believe, but yeah i would have thought that would give Choco a big edge over Eade from the get go, if he didn't already have one.

I haven't read this whole thread so apologies if this has been raised previously. A mate of mine is a stockbroker with a client in Perth. Roos recently purchased a property not far from Rossy Lyon.... Lets just hope it's an investment property!

That would explain why he was on the 5:30am flight out of Melbourne the other week.

Roos youngest is in year 12 next year, not keen to move him, until he has finished school. Worsfold has let it be known he wants to coach on. He will hand over to roos at the end of 2014.

Bet I'm right.

You may well be! Have heard the same re his son and high school... Roos did say on OTC that he is not interested in coaching ' at the moment' but never say never! 12 months time might be 'the moment' ?? If Woosha gets a 1 year extension then I think the jigsaw puzzle will be complete!

Yes I thought that was his reasoning for not going into coaching last year.

On that alone a decision before the end of the year is just silly.

Are you a father?

Would you move your son about to go into his final year of school into a different state with completely different education curriculum? Especially when you aren't short of cash or out of a job. Seems pretty logical to me.

Roos was speaking at the NGV tonight. Bucks, Ball, The North Leadership Group among the attendees. Didn't see any dees there but there were a couple of hundred in attendance. He was asked about the Melbourne coaching job by none other than Ron Barassi himself. Every other answer he gave that night was long with explanation, with that it was a simple no. However, for the rest of the night he used Melbourne as an example when he was talking about building culture within an organisation, getting the right people in etc. He thinks the world of PJ.

He said his son was the reason for not taking the offer last year if i remember correctly, strange he has not straight up said that was the issue this year, because one would think if it was he wouldn't even leave the door ajar, not saying that's not the case because i really have no idea

have certainly been convinced if nothing else he is on side with our club.

If it's not Roos I reckon that would be a great outcome.

Totally agree mate, Adam Simpson would be a fantastic influence on our midfield.

Can't really be Eade because as far as i am aware Collingwood aren't letting us interview him, would be abit stupid to hire someone without having a formal interview.

Eade has made it clear he'd be interested in the position as he's a career coach. He said that on 360 many weeks ago. Melbourne also know his coaching credentials and ability to foster young teams.

No formal approach is required right now, but it doesn't mean that we and he aren't very interested in each other.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?
