Mark Williams - $4

Roos - $5 - I get the feeling he really isn't interested

Worsfold - $9 - I don't think he'll want to do it

Eade - $9

etc

You can even get $41 on Garry Lyon, Schwartz, Brad Green and a whole bunch of silly names.

Williams v Eade the early front runners I'd say.

The best odds at the moment would be Adam Simpson at $26 or Scott Burns at $15. Whilst we will certainly be searching for an experienced candidate it would surely be wise to at least interview some of the better inexperienced coaches and these two are the ones that seem to be leading the pack.

Heard a rumour Clarkson s a done deal on 5 year contract, too good to refuse, whether he wins a premiership or not.

Clarkson signed a 3 year deal extension with Hawthorn in 2011. So that means he'll be contracted for 2014 does it not?

So we'd not only have to offer him a massive deal to get him across but also he'd have to break his contract with Hawthorn. All on the back of leaving a top 4 club with a shot at a flag this year and next year. For a team in the biggest trouble in decades.

Oh and he played 40 odd games for us in 96 and 97, I'm not sure he'd really feel a great debt to the club.

We had our chance to get Clarkson in 2011. And instead of Lyon pleading with his mate, forcing him into a meeting at least and going as hard as possible he simply reached out to his manager and got knocked back.

Same story goes for Ross Lyon who I'm sure if we ponied up the cash that Freo did would've gladly kept the family in Melbourne.

Kevin Bartlett said this earlier on SEN before the press conference.

He said this was what he was getting from the last reading of his tea leaves.

Not a single iota of plausibility.

In my view what the MFC needs and has since 2007

Is an experienced successful coach.

There are only a few of those around who are not currently contracted.

In my order are

Mathews- shows absolutely no desire to return to coaching, not one scintilla.

Roos - again I see little interest, but on the last occasion I saw he did not say definitely not

Eade - a chance perhaps now Neeld is gone but why would you leave Collingwood for the Dees?

Williams - appears to want another top gig. He is probably the only realistic option. I am under whelmed but he has won a flag!

Sheedy - will be available next year.

Gee not a lot to choose from is there

Williams might get it by default.

Please please please please get Roos.

Eade my 2nd choice. Williams 3rd.

(Obviously Clarkson is top choice, but won't happen)

Do not want inexperience ever again. Don't go near any assistants. Don't even sniff around.

Ross Lyon had money issues in Melbourne, he was never going to stay here.

Why would Eade leave Collingwood? I'll tell you why old dee, he's a reasonably successful footy coach, not a HOF. If we offered it to him, he'd take it.

I'm with Jaded though. Clarkson is my first option, Roos my second and then somewhere between Eade and Williams. Would probably be happy with any of them though.

I think that rumour was born out of this article.

How are you so confident of that AF?

he has given no indication he wants to coach again.

At the end of 2012 there were two jobs available. I believe if he wanted either he could have had them.

I doubt he wants to be a head coach again.

My source from the inner sanctums of MFC (who did also mention to me 5 days ago, that Neeld was to be sacked within 7days) says that the current board wants to go "hell for leather" for Paul Roos.

What so he up and ran to WA because they'd never find him. He went to Perth not Mexico.

Ross Lyon had money issues period. If we offered him the same deal as Freo why wouldn't he stay and save a bunch load of money having to move to the other side of the country.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
