Chris Connolly 2 year contract

If we had've tanked, we could blame our poor performance on the dismal culture that tanking left behind.

But, luckily we didn't tank I guess and our culture is great, Neeld is god and welcome back Cuddles.

I just don't know how they are going to get Cam Schwab back in the fold?

To follow Redleg's precedent, I DON'T know CC, and my opinions have no bias, but I can't believe the support for this guy. CC epitomises the (toxic) culture that was willing to prematurely retire JMac, instill a defeatist attitude within the playing group, allegedly threaten staff with THEIR jobs for not complying, NOT face the music when the AFL came policing (he got suspended on a technicality for bringing the game into disrepute and does not deserve credit for being 'brave'), side with Schwab against Bailey and the player leadership, and now claim to be 'uninvolved' with the footy department... Please MFC.... Just cut your losses, don't throw good money after bad....

Good on you CC.

Could have been a weak ,whinging ,gutless turncoat but you played a straight bat to the AFL.

Glad we are backing him.

I don't have a problem with this at all. He took a massive hit for the club, and it is doing the right thing and looking after him in turn. He's not going to be involved in the FD, so no concerns with any influence on the team. It's a good outcome.

If he'd kept his stupid comments and jokes to himself he wouldn't be in the position he's in, he never took a hit for the club, he dragged the club , supporters , members and sponsors through the mud and trashed our brand beyond repair, if they want extend his contract that's the clubs decision, but this clubs not receiving any more memberships or donations from my family.

Or he gave the AFL a pressure valve to release the pressure of this investigation that was going for so long that the AFL and Haddad needed something. The thing was kicked of by McLean 'feelings' that we were tanking.

Cue the 'joke' that was taken literally by some to hurt CC and the club. Pressure released: CC and Bails take the hit and we write a cheque out of the AFL's pocket.

I don't think we should bury CC for it and we haven't from what I can see.

Nothing is black and white in this world.

It's red and blue and so is CC.

Let me state my position again before I post, CC is a mate of mine. That said let me state the following:

Chris bore the brunt of the tanking punishment and we all know he is not the only one who had to be involved. He did so without recrimination. He has lost a year's salary as a result. He has a family to support.

He has been removed from the football side.

He is now in the marketing/membership/fundraising side. He is good at his role. He also does a lot of the community work and he is good at that as well. He is great with people and getting them involved with the MFC.

He is a former player who cares a lot about this club. He wants to see this club successful again and has suffered like few others as a result of the last few years.

I would be more likely to donate again if asked by Chris, someone who knows me and how I feel about the MFC, than some new kid I have never met before and who will leave as soon as he is offered a new job.

You want to build culture, you don't burn the CC's of this world. You use them to the best of their ability as part of the rebuild of this fractured club.

Good post Redleg, spot on.

Russell Holmesby makes a REALLY interesting comment in this week' s edition of Inside Football!!!!

Perhaps Chris Connolly needs to join Schwab!!!

How has the List Manager escaped !!!

The trio who stuffed the MFC!!!

Didn't we get a new list manager last year? Or was that head recruiter?

Inside Football.... The equivalent of Zoo Magazine for the AFL...

At least Zoo has some nice pictures to look at.

Having written for this mag and knowing RUssel Holmesby as a consequence, I wouldn't ever pay much attention to what the bloke writes, tbh.

He's that bad?

Inside Football.... The equivalent of Zoo Magazine for the AFL...

Or worse. There was a period, long ago, where every time I stooped to buy it we would lose the following game so I gave it away.

These days of course I don't have to worry (but do not buy it anyway). It's full of ratbaggery and bullsh1te.

Holmesby on page 2 of Inside Football

Chris Connolly's two year extension is either part of the sweetheart deal over tanking or the worst administrative deal in football history.

Solves the mystery.

Holmesby is a Saints fan and given that club's own history he should be checked out for memory loss.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
