I'd say it will take him roughly a decade to be able to get down all our issues on paper so don't hold your breath Striker.

But seriously I'd say late this season he'll probably be reporting his findings to the AFL. Whether or not we get to see what he comes up with, who knows.

Gerard Healy mentioned during the commentary that it would be delivered to the AFL within the next few weeks. I'd say we'll be able to move on Neeld during or just after the bye. Considering we play St Kilda after the bye (we might be a legitimate chance there), it might be the perfect chance to unveil an interim coach.

Hang on why would he be delivering it to the AFL. Should he not be delivering it to the Board and if not are we under administration because my impression is that the CEO reports to the Club Board first and then the Board through the President to the AFL.

There is no report in the sense it has been put here. We have a new, albeit acting, CEO, doing what any new CEO would do. Obviously, part of that is reviewing what has been happening, proposing a way forward, and implementing whatever changes he sees as appropriate.

Also, he's not answerable to the AFL, he made that clear in his first press conference. He's employed by Melbourne and answerable to the board.

They are already running our club via financing.

To be honest, I do know what I'm calling for.

The AFL holds the licences to 8 AFL sides. Of those eight sides, five of them have won flags over the last 20 years, 4 of them having won more than 1. They've accounted for ten of the last 20 flags despite being a minority of the competition for most of that time.

While there is the independence side, the AFL have control of the funding already and could kill us tomorrow if they wanted. Obviously they don't.

Of course not. The broadcasting agreement states 9 games a week.

There isn't a better way. MFC has shown itself unable to competently manage its affairs.

You are seriously dreaming if you don't think Jackson is an AFL appointment under veil of the structure you outlined.

Does it ever make you wonder why a person of Jackson's calibre with significant senior business interests with AFL would do a "charity" 6 month stint at MFC? As Demetriou has said the AFL has "recommended" Jackson.

If the Board had any sense they would be co operating with Jackson and the AFL.

I think we are effectively under the AFLs control now. We may have become an unofficial expansion club in terms of the level of support we will receive from the AFL. It's embarrassing but necessary. I mean apart from the Ox we haven't exactly had people banging down the door to get involved.

Really? I'm a member and don't remember being involved in any decision or even being told we've been put into administration.

I think we need to be very careful making assumptions about corporate responsibility. As far as I'm concerned, the corporate governance scheme currently in place is that Peter Jackson reports first, foremost and only to the Board. The Board, as part of its licence (franchise) agreement is accountable to the AFL. I have no doubt the AFL is taking a keen interest and that Peter Jackson's appointment not only has the support of the AFL but may well have been encouraged by the AFL, but whether we like it or the AFL likes it, Jackson is still accountable to the Board and us as members.

Conversely, and what follows from the above, is that as members, we need to take responsibility for appointments to the Board. So, rather than just blaming the Board, we should be actively considering how to improve it. I hope the next round of elections will be a very interesting time.

The board have been scheduled to meet about now for weeks anyway, plus Jackson has stated in the media that changes were going to happen in the FD, don't read into it too much.

My mail, which I'm assuming is what Iva's possibly alluding to is the decision to Move Neeld will be made early this week and he will coach his last game against the Hawks. Source has a 60/40 record so whether concrete or not we will see.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
