5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?

I agree with your comment on the Swans spread WYL, but the hand and foot skills of both teams are very average cf Geelong.

The MCG is great for spreading. We have played 7 games there and learnt nothing.

The back end of the season is going to be very ugly.

I would suggest that the training at MFC doesn't focus on the real needs - skills, skills, skills combined with sprint work - the academics can come later.

yes let the players run and enjoy playing.

Sundays game will be interesting. If we are thumped Neeld must be on borrowed time.

Dear god Sydney are amazing.

I'm so sad being a Melbourne supporter right now.

They look as if they actually WANT to play, and CARE for their team and their teammates. And their supporters.

What an absolutely disgraceful contrast.

Yes I like that Hardnut. Neeld used the phrase - football university when referring to his plans for overhauling the list. This is an important point because Neelds focus has been teaching but the players are not learning...hmmmm

No.

We are Melbourne. I want the same commitment to the ball & team mates.

It's not that hard. Our list has had the spirit ripped out of them.

Sydney, Geelong and to a lesser extent Hawthorn play the best football going around. I hope Peter Jackson is eyeing off good football people from these clubs to come to Melbourne to sort our mob out. Jackson has a great opportunity to fix this if he can pull the best coach and football department people from any of these clubs.

My patience is officially exhausted, I can't bear to watch Neelds team continue in this fashion.

Yes, it's an interesting point - teaching and learning - a good teacher ensures that the pupils are learning which is the fundamental aim and the teacher's responsibility.

Do we get a vote on the coach? As he wants another 5 years to totally kill off the MFC.

I for one want the current coach out has he appears to have no idea about player selection, coaching or what MFC needs to achieve to survive.

But I am worry that the powers to be will only replace him with another crap inexperienced coach.

Personally I would like someone who actual knows something about football, and not the current MFC board, to make the selection. I lost any faith in the current MFC board after the Suns game.

Is the MFC development the same as the Suns and GWS as stated by the coach.

Did not the MFC start its rebuilding program about 5 or 6 years ago, which was well before both teams entered the AFL.

What I really want to say to the coach "you must know you are not up to coaching an AFL team so please for the sake of the MFC GETOUT!"

Melbourne FC will not exist in "5 years" if Neeld remains at the helm. While he seems a nice guy the obvious lack of charisma, appeal, coaching prowess, motivational skills will lead to a steady exodus of our better players. He can only attract players that are either plain and simple not good enough (Sellar, Pederson's) or players at the end of their careers (Rodan, Byrnes). Rivers, Maloney, Jurrah,

We've endured years of bad development because no one seems to be allowed to complete a rebuild. Neeld should be allowed to finish building the list he has in mind and yes, another 3 years is probably quite an accurate assessment of the time it will take to become genuinely competitive with the top teams.

If we sack Neeld now and take on another coach, just how long to you give them to get us to a point where we are truly competitive? It is very possible that a new coach will again dismantle everything and begin yet another rebuild, putting us even further behind.

Sorry MD, but you are showing about as much mongrel as a Toorak miniature poodle.

Neeld's rubbish Coach. Face up to it and move on.

Probably the most worthwhile comment on this thread today actually.

Why is the comment "worthwhile" . The comment is an obvious racist slur. Jurrah copted it at Melbourne from the Melbourne Members area throughout his career. Fair Dinkum you Guys just wake up!!! It's not on. Whites have to release this notion they are superior because of being white.

Probably the fault of Racist Parents...IMO...

Hope that stupid girl wasn't being a racist, but it wouldn't surprise me. Friggin low life Collingwood supporters. Pathetic.

(Totally off topic, sorry!)

MELBOURNE supporters were no better. Melbourne supporters are so Pathetic they don't even know a racist comment when they here it.

Port Power being made to understand by the Cats. Now we all know Neeld is gone but it will be interesting what Hinkley serves up in his press conference. They are a long way off. Coaches play their part but as we've seen all year from all clubs if everyone comes switched on your half a chance. Obviously skills go a long way but how important is mindset. Players must accept some responsibility for this.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
