Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY - ROUND 5

Both sides are out of form, though I guess since we won last week, and are coming off a 12-goal quarter, we're less so.

Both sides are missing key players.

The one main difference - it's in Brisbane.

In Melbourne, I'd be a lot more confident, but putting our side on a foreign ground, especially since we've been at the G all year so far, makes me doubt our chances.

At our best (first half v West Coast, last quarter v GWS) we can and should beat them. Whether we can reach our best for long enough up there remains to be seen.

This is why it is such an important day for Neeld.

He needs to motivate this group to play hard AWAY from the MCG.

I listened to Ken Hinkley's presser last night.

MN should do the same.

I think we will be in the game at 3/4 time, people are giving brisbane too much credit and we will come in with abit of confidence

I think we'll get done, but it will be with a lot more fight than usual. 3-5 goal loss.

Hopefully I'm wrong and we belt them by 37 goals, Gary Ablett leaves the Suns to come to us and I win the lotto.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Nathan Jones, Matt Jones, Jack Trengove, Rohan Bail, Jordie McKenzie, Dean Terlich and Jack Grimes all in the same team. All of them are hard running, good tackling mids who will try all day no matter what happens.

highly optimistic, i think it will be 15 goals

When is the club accountable in your eyes?

When do we stop this expecting to lose everytime we step away from the womb that is the MCG.

5 weeks ago most expected us to beat Port.

Hinkley has got that list playing for him and for their team mates.

Now i saw a glimpse of that with the MFC last week in the Final Q.

It is Neeld's job to make sure that spirit, belief and fun continues this week.

We can win with the right mind set today.

If we get pumped Neeld's position is on shaky ground.

It is up to him. I want him to succeed by the way, but there is the time for delivery.

Would a loss to the lions by say 20 plus points be the end of voss as their coach?

Not a chance. I don't even think losing by a hundred points would see him gone this week.

I wouldn't say so, it will just turn the gauge up a notch. If we belted them by 80 points then maybe. It works in reverse as well tho, if we get smashed today, Mark Neeld is again pushing [censored] up hill to keep his job.

I hope you are right Demonfan, 'cos if we are in it at 3/4 time, I reckon we will win.

I would say that ANY team losing to Melbourne atm by more than 20pts would put their coach on shakey ground

Hope to see Davey as the sub and Frawley take Brown. Who's McKenzie going to take? Beamer? I have a feeling that Moloney is going to have a very good game today...

You underestimate Jordie McKenzie. He was really good against Port Adelaide in Round 1. But I think he'll go to Rocky anyway.

I get the feeling that you've worded this incorrectly.

Yeah sorry i just mean if we beat them fairly comfortably, seems like they are having alot of the same sorts of issues we are on field so it should be an interesting game

I didn't mean that if McKenzie is tagging Beamer that Beamer will have a big day; I meant that I think Beamer will be up and about for this game. I wouldn't mind seeing Neeld put McKenzie on him.

I've just put on another $20.00 via sportsbet. Go figure, I lost $200.00 on us last week and we won!! FMD

You should have gone with a fifty on the 40+ @ $4.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
