Not wishing to steal Nineteen's thunder but we re-signed 40+ members tonight.

And a lot said they will be renewing

Rangey me old chum, looks like your revolution will not be televised (a bit of musical trivia for the buffs)

Also got your PM, not sure what my ice skating ability has to do with anything, can you explain

Also shook Mark Neeld's hand this time.

We should get a reasonable crowd on Saturday. keep the faith, stay together, we will get out of this hole we are in

Coming in on the train [Monday] I figured for maybe 5 volunteers .... & two would be crying before the night was out - I was going to be one!!

Arrived after 5.30 to a meeting area full of volunteers, plus two in club colours. Saw Mark Neeld & Neil Craig in the group & turned around thinking wrong office. But it was us. Mark & Neil really mixed into the group [team' photo will be posted] & boosted our project.

Punch & Judy wanted to sing the song, but fortunately .........

The night took off from there & we achieved 40 sign ups - nearly best for the year. Great under the circumstances.

Three new volunteers joined 'in our darkest hour' & Catherine, Cheryl & Dave did beautifully.

Tim, Julian, Geoff, Pete, Judy, Michael & Anne made up the quorum.

My feel is that many volunteers & supporters have traditionally been sitting on the fence. These 'dark cloud days' have shuffled the balance to the extent that we have many more deciding now is the time to sign &/or volunteering. [No doubt the despair group has also grown]. The net benefit is our group is stronger & growing.

Tx to Mark & Neil for coming along & genuinely getting involved.

Great night folks - well done. Lets go again.

More good news: as bad as we are, we have still won just as many games as Carlton!!

... and this week's opponent West Coast.

Great work guys ... you are the club's heroes (while the team is playing the way it is ATM anyway).

Nineteen, it was an honour and a privilege for myself and my lovely lady to stand alongside you and the others tonight

Then I'm guessing you are Peter, Dave here - managed to pull 5 renewals that I was pretty pleased with.

First time there tonight and really enjoyed it. I'm fiercely critical of many of the goings on with the club and will remain so, but felt great to be able to contribute a little.

Well this is my first post here Demonland! I have been one of those creepy people that would live vicariously through other peoples posts.... The last time I watched the boys live was when the Northern Stand was still up, you could buy full strength beer and I was sitting behind Ian Henderson(nice bloke!!). I will be going to watch the game with a mate of mine I met when I was working in the "West" digging it up and sending it to China! Yes he is a one eyed Eagles man like every other luddite over there, I got tired of hearing him tell me how great Subiaco Oval is so I said "he needs to see a game at the "G"! not that shite horse paddock those goons shuffle about on".... and with the way the boys are travelling at the moment I expect to be bludgeoned with West Coast gibberish and gleeful hooting coming from my ham fisted friend, the only joy I have had so far is that the Weeagles are on the same number of wins as the Dees!!!! So with a small wager he and I made a few years back, I expect that and most of the over priced beers will be on me......... So I will be getting a membership and supporting the Demons, because if I'm wasting my money on mid strength beer and shite food I may as well give some to the club "my heart beats true" for. I hope to see you all there.... I will be the guy with the big West Coast supporter sitting beside him drinking my beer...... GO DEES!!! :)

WJ that is very flattering, but we are not heroes we are just welded on supporters (thanks for the quote Anne), I volunteer because a big tall Irish bloke you may have known said it was good way to help the Club.

Dave, as you saw and heard, none of us pulls punches as to what is happening or has happened, but it's take bottle to make a stand

PS Can anybody help with getting this on Bigfooty. Senility & IT defeat & lack of usage qualification have me beaten re posting threads on Bigfooty.

If a younger wise head could transfer this thread across it would be great. tx

We aren't going great on field but I do think that the elite and honesty vision Mark and Neil have for the Club is the right way forward, and to hear they made themselves available to mix with the volunteers is very very good. Our Club needs to nurture every relationship it can, I don't know what score out of ten the Club would get for how well they treat, volunteers/sponsors/players/foundationheroes/employees/members/supporters but I'd hope we can be elite in this area.

Great work volunteers and it's encouraging to see that people are signing up.

Next trick is to seduce back a few of those volunteers who have [understandably] faded over the years of the D2D project.

Now is a nice time to rejuvenate.

Great stuff mate. Hopefully the beer can "detox" us from our on field performance and with you as a member we can " All hail the new flesh"

I paid for my membership on March 9th at the Casey Fields Game, still nothing, i have rung the club twice, spoke to Bridgett and Tom, still nothing, not a bad way to spend 200 bucks.

PM me your phone number or membership id and I will check tonight when I am in again, there has got to be an issue with your details, if you have your membership card and membership is paid, the card is active, did you try it? you just need your pack, perhaps you have a mailbox thief

Now is the time we deliver....

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
