Hate to admit it but Lloyd's hit the nail on the head. It's the lack of answers, or at the very least, any effort to search for the answers then implement them, that's the biggest concern.

Together with the sense that we're not getting the whole story.

If you're just not good enough, you get smashed by maybe 70 or 80 points. But you don't get totally obliterated by 150 unless there are serious problems within the club.

I think you're spot on about that point Akum.

I don't think the players we've brought in are the big problems - it's bloke who have been there for a while now just taking their pay check and not giving a [censored] about the place.

There are a lot of unanswered questions

Blokes like Sylvia, Jamar etc should be showing a lot more leadership then they do.... it's a bloody sad state of affairs

Yep. Whilst I believe that players won't generally say anything when they're involved at a club, I'm a little surprised that we haven't heard more about the players stance immediately prior to '186'. We've heard bits and pieces, hearsay and lots of innuendo but no actualities. Most of us believe the commonly held belief but if that is true, then there has to be residual effects.

8 players are gone from the club who played that day. A certain 'silence' can pervade footy clubs even after the event. It's like there's a pact to say nothing publicly. Someone might say something one day. We've only had one legitimate win since that day.

Thanks mate. They should have cut the CEO as well unfortunately. Any incoming coaching regime really needed clean air to take a fresh look at the list without any baggage. I doubt that any of the parties involved were entirely blameless and you can't have the inmates running the asylum and all that, but I honestly think it would have been for the best.

If he doesn't want to or indeed feel he had the capacitu. So be it. It is not incumbent upon hint or any individual to fix the club.

The club needs to fix the club utilising the democracy of interested folks to enable this.

We continually seem to wait for some demi god to arrive whether be player or club leader to take us out of the wilderness .

Doesn't work that way. ALL the best companies and clubs thrive when they instigated best practice SYSTEMS .

Ours is obviously stuffed. Lets fix it.All else will follow imho.

As ever, MFC lacks leaders. There are no ex-players of note who can help lead this club eg Dunstall.

Lyon can go jump - gutless. Remember, it was payments largely to him that were the cause of our salary cap breach in the late 90's (correct me if I am wrong). One way Garry; take take, not a lot of give.

sorry but thats crap , I have spoken many times to David and Julie Cloke and i can tell you how close we nearly came to having Travis with us ...

Did anyone see Gary as a natural for a media career after football? Right place right time with Ian Johnson at the club.

One of our big problems with ex players is that premierships bind them to a club. Some of our old premiership players still get together on a regular basis, if you don't have that bond it is so much more difficult.

The best thing I saw on TV last night was the Open Mike with Mathew Scarlett, I watch these occasionally but only with passing interest because we know most of the back story. Because Mathew rarely speaks it was a fascinating insight not only to him but a little bit on Geelong as well. He certainly spoke out at the time when the media were on 'Bombers' back and rang Mike to say he would walk if he was sacked. Very interesting story for those who think the players should stick to playing and are not influenced by what goes on in the club.
