New dynamics, new feel, new attitude

I don't know why but I'm really looking forward to the prospect of what Matt Jones will bring to the team. From what I've read he has the speed and movement, decent height and his body is there abouts with at least another month to go.

We really need to have that type of player on the park.

I know some that have been well wide of the mark and often confuse fact with opinion. Sorry to jump at you on this one 'WYL' but in the last few months I've heard so much BS from 'someone in the know'. I'm happy your source is reliable and positive about the future, we should all be.

Be postive on this one rjay.

I think we have some really good recruits. Bargains shall we say.

James Magner seems to have been left out of 2013 team discussions. He was a shining light in the first 4 rounds, but admits himself that he was really feeling it and getting light tags. By the end of round 7, he said his body was stuffed.

If you have read his tweets, he has not stopped training even over the break. With his first AFL pre-season, who knows what to expect.

People talk about his skills. I suggest viewing his Sandringham youtube highlights, might change your mind.

Hurrah a thread that is not about you know what.

I agree H-T there is much to like about the changes

It will be very interesting to see how they pan out.

A number you have listed are kids and is doubtful they will be world betters this year but also hard to see them being worse than the ones that have left.

I still believe we have only a mid level list It is going to take more than one year to turn us into a top eight side.

Please excuse me for a little negativity but based on decades of false dawns I am keeping my cheering at a low level till April.

Rev were are you when i need you?

Still on holidays?

Just got back tonight from the land of two-headed tree choppers. I was looking to see if I could unearth another Jeremy Howe.

C'mon Old Dee, let yourself go. This is going to be our best year in a long, long time. Be not pessimistic, for the optimistic shall inherit the flag.

Praise the lord, the angels are lining up to spread glory on our club. Those who oppose us will be smote by a mighty sword from on high. Those who lack faith will be turned into Collingwood supporters. Those who doubt will be banished to the desert of GWS. The AFL will be swallowed by a sea of legal woes as they try to defend their abject stupidity. A perfect storm is brewing my friend.

Hallelujah brother! 0ur time is nigh. 2013 will see us silence the critics and restore our lost pride. 2014 will see us resume our position as the premier club in this hallowed competition. Bring it on.

Praise be to Neeld. Go Dees!

How's that Old Dee? Are you uplifted?

Interesting to see that so many of the de-listed players (or those who chose to leave) were slow. Rivers, Moloney, Bate etc... Blease, Jetta, Nicho, Toumpas, Watts, McDonald are quick. Am I able to expect pace from the Dees in 2013?

I have seen too many January's that made me feel good about large, bronzed men looking like champions in the pre season. I just can't dance to this music yet. Last year hurt me bad, so I will wait at least until the NAB cup finishes before I commit to any sense of expectation.

It has been a huge turnover this summer, but I am looking forward to Jetta, Tynan and Taggert. These three are full of genuine potential and have seen at least 2 pre seasons.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
