The Age reports that Col Sylvia, Breny Moloney and Luke Tapscott were photographed with some underworld figure in Vegas recently.

Don't know how to post the link. Someone's got it in for us...

I actually think that it's one of the sad and unfortunate things about internet/social media. Some clown is in a photo with some footballers, and it makes the news. It only puts further distance between players and the general public.

Just quietly, I am happy Col appears to have a water on him!!!!

Bloke wants photo. Players pose for photo.

This is not news, someone at The Age needs to take control of the situation and stop the campaign they have running against us. It is making a mockery of their sports section and credibility as a newspaper.

I'd really be worried if the blokes were photographed in the company of Caroline Wilson but this bloke - pfft!!!

'While in Las Vegas, they attended a pool party. An Australian man recognised their Australian accents and introduced himself. They spoke briefly and were asked for a photograph. They had no further association with the person in the photograph,'' the spokesman said.

Fairfax is intent on becoming Australia's News of The World.

Not a hanging offence but Col, seriously? I thought you would have learnt your lesson after going drinking with Dids and Christopher Hudson!

It is ridiculous.

I'm sure he didn't introduce himself as "Hey bro, I'm King Fiddy, I promote fully sick combat sports and have connections to the Rebels and Comancheros motorbike gangs."

Seriously what has journalism come to.

Sure as hell Sylvia has prior misdemeanors and a percentage of bikie gangs involve themselves in criminal activities but from one photo they have:

- Sylvia's record

- Didak's record

- Hudson shooting

- Dodgy boxing promotion

- Bikie gangs

And just to be smart that throw in a line about Melbourne tanking.

It really wouldn't be worth the effort or the additional media scrutiny and the papers know it but surely you could even consider a law suit if you were one of these players for the paper suggesting you have criminal links.

He would have had no idea who he was, I'm into both crime (reading about it!) and combat sports and I've never heard of him.

Nah, I'm with you mate. Who gives a toss? It does remind me though of what an acquaintance of mine's, who tends to find himself in trouble when he gets on the turps, mother said to him when he said the following:

Friend: 'This stuff just happens to me'

Mother: 'But it seems to just happen to you.'

Another thing, the link says 'Melbourne players drink with underworld figure'... Maybe they did, but in that photo they're drinking water and whatever trendy bev' Brent is sporting.

And there's a Storm flag in the background, take the 2012 premiership off them.

+1 for the I'd never heard of him brigade.

The only disappointment for me is Tapscott's choice of company.

I'm disappointed King Fiddy didn't kick those paedo glasses off Moloney's face.

Are you saying Cam Pedersen was there too?

Must find that guy a new nickname...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
