Jesse Hogan

MELBOURNE will be given permission to blood its key defensive hope Jesse Hogan in the VFL next year, giving fans a glimpse of what they will see in 2014.

The 17-year-old was secured in a trade with Greater Western Sydney and in a worst-case scenario could be the sole star selection for the Demons from this year's draft process.

Totally expected with the way Viney was treated as a 17yo.

That'll make going to Casey all the more exciting in 2013.

Defensive? HACKS!

A simple fact- Hogan is a Forward you goons. If the newspaper idiots can't even get this right, what can we expect on more critical topics? Any ideas Ms Wilson?

On topic, it will be great that he can be developing and skilling up at Casey towards a rapid injection into the seniors in 2014.

Btw- worst case scenario: guesswork by the same genius that know where Hogan plays...

Actually, this isn't completely wrong as while he is predominantly a forward, he has played a fair bit at CHB. A couple of my colleagues have watched him play and one of them thinks that this would be his best position but of course, that's deabatable. Have a look at his highlights and you will see him taking marks in the backline.

In any case, next year is all about development, so the FD can play him wherever they see fit. It might be easier for a 17y.o. to find his way playing CHB.

Plus his results from the combine were up with the midfielders, also in his highlights I noticed whenever he takes a mark (being forward or back ) how quickly he runs back of his mark , looking to move the ball on straight away. Looks a huge talent!

Being able to play in the backline is a great assett to his game.

Probably shows he has some footy smarts also ;-)

Gee I thought someone would have had a shot at Ralphys jibe about the worst case scenario for Melbourne that he may be the only star pick up in this years draft.

What a Moron.

He's just put up a picture of the number 1 locker and is saying it will be his home for the next three years.

Nice choice, Jess.

I don't like the way that he has specifically said 'three'

I don't know if I am just paranoid or used to it or if I am actually sensing something when I say that I do not think that he seemed overly excited when he was picked up by the Dees.

And yes, I am yet to also see the kid smile. Lets hope he makes some buddies at the club.

FFS.

I know you're the poster that most epitomises MFCSS, but honestly...

The kid just signed a 3 year contract.

He clearly isn't taking anything for granted.

If he just expected for a 10-15 year career to happen, then it would be more cause for concern.

Why would he have put the photo up if he was so devastated?

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
