The current administration should be summarily dismissed

Now i have you attention can i say that i support the current administration and think for the first time in a long time the board seems to be united and the FD is kicking goals.

So why did i start this thread?

Simple. I am sick of every other thread being hijacked by all the naysayers and posters with crystal clear agendas.

So for those posters (you know who you are) please post all your angst here. Talk to each other. Bat it around. Others can come on and engage if they wish - or perhaps simply for a chuckle.

But it would be great if other threads were not hijacked. Go for it on this thread, let the bile flow!

A valiant and well thought out try......but it won't work......although a few were busy this morning trying to hijack 'Hungry for Sport', and may have not recovered enough yet.....somebody even mentioned Joe Gutnick.......altogether....look over shoulder....never look fwd

Won't give you the pleasure other than I'll take a break for a while. No need to say the same things over and over again. Will return around the time of the AGM at the earliest. Will have new things to say then.

See you all then.

Here's a thought - how about we do both - look forward (and I 100% support the current FD), AND (gosh!) look back and see what we might learn for the future. You know... "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"

All the best for your ticket. Let me know if you need spiritual guidance.

I agree but what probably peeves both myself and Binman is the constant referencing to the past, yes we stuffed up, but the new season starts now, we have all new people and as we have seen, lots of changes, so let's give it a go.....what the Club did 15 years ago doesn't matter anymore.....and the constant referencing to 186 as if it is on a par with 9/11 is positively disturbing (apart from the fact some may say it is just adopting the numerals to add significance)....this is footy, nobody dies, you get to try again the next game, the next season.....if Mark Neeld's plan does not work, do you really think he will be here in two years time....everybody knows that

Spot on. The one thing i'd say though that of course we need to learn from out past and one of the key lessons is that a disunited board is poison. The key to good governance is a united, solid board and from my perspective the current board appears more united than anytime in the last 2 decades.

This is evidenced by the the preparedness to give the FD the required resources and backing Neeld to do what is required to turn things around and make the really hard calls (eg sacking the LG, making Grimes and Trenners skippers, cutting players etc etc). To that list i'd reappointing CS for 3 years. Whatever your view of CS this showed courage and unity from the board (how easy would it have been to let him go or only give him a 12 month extension . Not easy things to do and in the past the board would have not been able to get it together to do them.

Sounds like you should go to the AGM and stand for the board, In fact go there ask your questions and stop trying to undermine everything on here

Which no doubt, will in essence be the same as the old things you had to say before.

AGM's are pretty frequent.

Hardly a year goes by without us having one...

Gee..........you mean the 'A' doesn't stand for Ad-hoc then?

I've finally swung around.

We should sack Neeld asap ,hire the only coach left on offer .

Sack the LG.

Get Junior back-hes only 36.

Sack the board and get someone who'll send us broke again.(Maybe Ben Polis).

Send Mitch Clark away.

Train at the Junction.

and cut ourselves from the MCG again.

Anything I've left out?

No there's not is there?

Absolutely disgraceful - this administration allowed three first round draft picks to leave without getting at least first round picks in exchange. Disgraceful stuff. Sack the lot of them. Then publicly [censored] them prior to their being drawn and quartered. That will show them ....something.

(Is that the response you wanted?) ;-))

Make it the 2014 AGM - then you really might have something new to say

Neeld had a disgraceful 2012 season. Lets be blunt about that. He lost many loyal players and could not install confidence, inspire and unite the club. As a result, he had to take drastic measures, in which he has done, and I commend him for that.

If not for the aggressive way he has approached the trade season, and the ruthless way he has swung his sword, I would still be calling for his head.

Now, I can see that he is going to charge thru 2013, without an excuse in the world. I like that. Balls and all!

Now lets see if he can coach. If we end up bottom 4, I will again call for his head, but I am looking quite optimistically about the future. I just hope we can straightedn up a bit and back ourselves in a bit more.

Time will tell.

Please name names....only include loyal players. And don't give me lazy ones who weren't interested in hard work on the track or hard work in games.

B the way, I am not disputing your opening sentence, other than I would replace your first word with "...The team..."

If you are not redrafting Luke Molan then all of that will be a waste of time.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
