"And the Crows are learning of a third club - one based in Melbourne rather than AFL premier Sydney - that has joined Queensland-based clubs Gold Coast and Brisbane in seeking the 25-year-old giant."

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... Let's hope Tip has a bit of Mitch Clark syndrome when it comes to his homesickness cure

Pick 4 is overs.

Pick 13 and a half decent player may be more suitable. Maybe Martin.

Or pick 4 and pick 45 for Tippet and their first rounder

I reckon we are doing the rounds...missed out on Lynch, now after Tippett.

We probably have options 3 and 4 as well, probably being Gumbleton and Butcher.

Interesting the hearld sun has reported a offer from a major based Melbourne club. Thoughts on who??

Us to force GC's hand on pick 2 :) (i am not even sure if i am joking)

One thing is for sure though- if Tippet came here it would be only for money.

Everyone cool with the decision to bring in a mercenary and the ramifications that may have on our efforts to rebuild culture?

I don't want a Scully type on the list. Been down that road. Ended up crashing at the Lie rd, daddy likes cream puffs rd intersection.

Yes. We weren't getting Clark for $300k and a free tour of the MCC Long Room. It didn't take him long to invest himself in the place though.

We're going to have to pony up if we want a star like Tippett.

But I'd LOVE another Mitch Clark on our list...

Confirmed (albeit via facebook) that Tip is definitely leaving Adelaide, and has told them so.

Looking for another source now...

Any mature recruit we get will a have a sense of the mercs about them. Even if it is only a perception.

Look at Clark - we know how invested he is in the place, but the perception remains that he is at the club for coin and do you think I give a flying fruitcake?

Bet your arse I don't.

The Crows say they have been told there is a "wildcard'' offer to Tippett beyond those of Gold Coast and Brisbane.

But they say this is not from the Swans but a major Melbourne-based club.

Are we a major Melbourne-based club??

Is Mitch Clark also a mercenary who has detracted from our club's culture?

If I ws a bettting man then Id be putting money on that Visy-scum :o

If GC have to give up pick 2 because of this = Win

If Kurt Tippet comes to us = Win

Can't really see too much downside of this...that being said I'm still not convinved it's definitely us with the offer

He was also attracted here by the role we were offering him- full forward. That is enough for me.

Unless there is another reason other than money for a guy in Kurt's position (in a club pushing for a flag) I think if there are other options you should go for them.

And I was pushing for Cloke. Think I have to re-assess my posiotion on that.

Also- if GC are interested and we steal him off them, you can betyourarse that GC will bid on Viney.

Lock it in FattyMcChins!

Only we won't be able to "steal" him until after f/s bidding next monday.

keep in mind Carlton are after a primary forward first up...thats Tippet.. Lynch isnt a #1 forward.

Carlton wanted Cloke... Tippet will do them fine.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
