to be honest a change of scenery would do monfries well. would not be disappointed if he came to the dees.

Just posted on twitter by Jay Clark from the HUN that Monfries is the small forward we have signed to a 4 year deal. Apparently rival clubs are convinced that it's happening. Obviously not a lock yet but the wheels are certainly in motion.

"Angus Monfries to Melbourne. Four year deal. Rival clubs convinced it's happening. Dees need a hard working small forward."

Jay Clark's twitter.

Not sure what to think of this. We do need one but is he the one we need?

Make a great step ladder for Jumping Jeremy Howe!

Actually wouldn't mind Morefrees

Take him for now hey. We may have trouble getting enough players in for all the ones that are leaving/being cut!

Hopefully we can land a superstar (or two), but I'm sure there will be one or two educated gambles like Angus. For now I back Neeld and Co. in, they nailed it with getting Clark in.

Your mail, or did you see the @ClarkyHeraldSun tweet "Angus Monfries to Melbourne. Four year deal. Rival clubs convinced it's happening."?

I actually didnt see that mate, heard it from an unrelated source. But looks to be on the money obviously

Massive News if its true, Neeld and co are straight into business in what the club needs! I know people might say but its only monfries but he has experience and apperently good leadership that will fit in well at demonland. A new change like clark will do him well! remember there was question marks over clark too

Shannon Byrnes would be the "small forward" mentioned but unable to be announced?

Would prefer and am hoping it's Jarred Moore.

2nd free agent small forward I'd be keen on is Byrnes and then Monfries.

Monfries isn't the worst going around but certainly not the top of my list.

Boak - Reigning B&F at Port

Caddy - No.7 draft pick developing beautifully

You - a Numnut

Reigning B&F at Port is the equivalent of being the king of Dubbo.

'Developing beautifully' isn't a mid in his 2nd year getting held to a mere 3 possessions in a full 'injury free' game of AFL footy.

Numnut? Nice, is that your highbrow material?

Surely they're not so spooked by supporters and our lowly image that they'll settle on rubbish. They don't need to be seen to be doing something for the sake of doing something.

Surely ...

I shouldn't say he's rubbish, but FFS you wouldn't consider him a major catch, or a player worth spending decent coin on.

Forgot about this place. I've never payed that much attention to Monfries so I'm not really sure what to make of it. I guess that Neeld and co have runs on the board with Clark so I'm assuming they got someone we can use to good effect.

Apparently he is a w@nker of highest proportions

So? That describes about a third of all AFL players. Another third are w@nkers of middle proportions.

IF he fits the needs we have, wants to play for MFC and is prepared to take a preseason thrashing by Misso then get him. IF......

No doubt his hammies are anxious to escape The Weapon.

Turns 26 in January. Don't see him as a dangerous small forward. More mid sized marking forward. Presume Neeld and Misson are sure he has tank to rotate through midfield.

No doubt there is a vacancy for a mid sized marking forward in our 22.

If he does come to the Dees hopefully Neeld and co can get him to play a tad harder than he has for the Bombers.

AND NO DIVING!

Reasonably confident that Tim 'Regularise Player Payments' Harrington would not authorise an excessive offer coin wise.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
