Crying out for a Wiz reincarnation right about now. One of the best to watch ever, will never forget when he kicked 8 in the second half against the pies.

Definitely a bad career move to go back West and it was a pity there wasn't much scrutiny about the offer he took to go back to the Dockers. He was certainly our last marquee player and we didn't get enough back in the trade deal when he left.

Incidentally, I believe the Wizard already had a young son when he joined the MFC. I wondered if he's turned out to be as talented as his dad?

I think it was 9 goals in the second half actually! Yeh was the most exciting half I've seen from a demon

One of my favourite moments came in 2000 in an innocuous 76 (edit - 83) point thrashing of the Dockers.

We won the ball out of the middle, Jeff led for it to take a chest mark about 35 out directly in front. Too easy.

Jeff dropped the mark yet proceeded to paddle the ball in front of him toward the boundary.

Probably without a single thought of getting a better angle, Farmer dribbled it the entirety of the way to the boundary line before taking control of the ball, completing a half-turn and drilling the goal from 40 out hard against the boundary with pressure.

One of the more ridiculous, miraculous things I've seen - yet it wasn't a surprise.

It's funny what you can find in google, I typed in Jeff Farmer's sons and came across this article:

http://www.perthnow.com.au/footballer-jeff-farmers-sons-star-in-wa-miniseries-cloudstreet/story-fn6mh7kp-1226060175493

Jeff Junior is 13 so pencil him in for the 2016 or 2017 draft hehe.

"Even though he's now got a taste for acting, Jeff Jr has another interest that may [censored] up the ears of AFL talent scouts."I've been trying to focus on football really,' he said."

Jeff played 118 games for MFC and 131 for Freo. They would be eligible for father/son at both clubs.

Even better! Can't see anyone on our list doing that in the near future...

And now the Wiz plays works in the Pilbara and plays for the mighty Wickham Wolves.

Hats off.

Does he still kick a few?

Its weird thinking he played more games at Freo! I cant really remember him playing in a Freo jumper.

His football was 100 times better at the Dee's! Was sad too see him move west.

With just the 35 games I guess he'll remain with an *asterisk* next to his name as a 'might've been' until further notice.

A lot of excitement and fan raving in that short time though! I'm sure there were at least a few people who were swayed by the thought of watching Liam in action

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
