Really starting to appreciate this bloke's post match inventiveness with words. He doesn't rely on the old cliches much at all.

He makes sense doesn't he. Really liked his one yesterday saying that the media only look at the 7 day picture. Funny thing is during the game I was worried but by the end of his press conference!

Another thing that was mentioned when I was talking to someone was the wind. PLayers nowadays never really have to put up with the kind of breeze that was around yesterday, add this with the amount of running and the pressure this was a big reason for the poor skill level. Doesn't excuse every other game we have played.

I stopped listening to Neeld early in the season. I don't care what a losing coach says. I did read today he said there were good signs in the GWS game. Reinforced why I don't listen to him. Haven't written him off. Just want to see on-field do the talking.

One last shot despite the battle being lost? I'm really tired of the constant negativity. Give it up. Give the guy a chance. Get some long distance goggles and try to see the bigger picture.

Because our attitude and performances were really great last year.

Who gives a sh!t what he says in the media. This is the most overrated variable of coaching acumen going around.

I'm only concerned about the conversations he has with individuals and the playing group as a whole.

Agreed Neeld must be given a chance. Simply venting out after the GWS game. Very lucky the clock stopped otherwise were heading for a loss. Big statement and constant cliche don't do it. Just want to see more cohesive style of play. The underlying worry is Melbourne fork out huge bucks for Clokes/Boak types without anyone at the steering wheel.

Some of the posters on here can't give it up.....you have to remember if the glass was half full for some of them they would spill it..it was a scrappy game on Saturday but we won, and don't really care we stopped a team from scoring a goal for over a quarter of play.......and no we wouldn't have lost if the clock had kept going because it couldn't...really...you want to play for three hours just to prove a point?

Have to admit, I'm getting a little bit tired of the average age/games defense. He mentions it every presser.

The average age of our playing list is 22 yrs 342 days. Adelaide is next in line at 23 yrs 44 days and averaging 5 less games, and they're going okay...

I realise it comes into the big picture but the incessant referral to it is grating on me.

Same. Stopped listening after round 2, when it was clear that he was dropping the realistic, hardline approach he offered in round 1 for a more optimistic outlook, which is understandably more for the playing group than it is for the fans and media.

He's just keeping it positive. No problem with that but I have no interest in what he has to say atm. I can make my own judgements about the game and what's wrong and what's right, and when the team starts winning consistently I'll know that he's addressing the bleedingly obvious.

It's become more a discussion point later in the season because he's actually talking about the avg. age & games we are putitng out each week. With players like Davey, Jamar, Moloney, Bate, Clark, Bartram on the sidelines we have become younger and less experienced. Not sure about Adelaide's figures but I reckon this is where it's at.

This isn't to condone performance from my poiint of view though, we should still have walloped GWS on the weekend.
