Good plan, tone. We can sack Neeld now, have a new coach come in next year, start from scratch again, and when we finish THAT season 2-22, we can sack him too and do it all again next year.

What a laughing stock this club is, next year I will donate my money to a worthy cause, a more deserved charity case, RSPCA or boat people, or something,

as you plainly dont get it... take your money and make yourself scarce... You could even start with here for a start.

Some only see superficial things. You even struggle with this.

Its good that you like Dogs and Cats and Birds of various types so much as you obviously have no stomach for being a Demon, that takes sterner stuff.

It still baffles me that some cant see what is going on.

Hopefully the new coach can implement a game plan that is being used currently, but would probably be outdated by the time we could ever master it, like the Swans "sling-shot" or the Hawks precision kicking game.

I think Kangaroos are about 9 goals better than us with the teams that were put forward today. Today was about right for me to be honest.

However, knowing what happens if you put forward an opinion that isn't backed up with reasoning I offer the following.

1) NM have had bugger all injuries this season. They have played almost the same group week in and week out. That's great for consistency and chemistry. The only thing they change is the 20th - 22nd player for form or match-ups and good on em. It's much easier for them to have a clear best 22, especially with a coach that has been with the group for a while and with ALL the squad to choose from every week. We, as a supporter base, can't agree on anyone beyond our best 7 or 8.

2) NM are playing confident football and they run to spots because they know they will get rewarded with the ball. They played in front at the stoppages because there were no clear, deep tap outs today, they were nearly always short and they were there. The only exception was Howe's 3rd man up that gave Jones his 2nd Q goal.

3) Life with a big, strong, mature key forward must be delightful. Not just to kick to, but to crumb off, to draw an extra defender leaving lots of space and also to be able to gt something out of the 'just kick it towards the goals' stuff (that we are so good at).

4) Etihad. The hugging of the boundary line stuff is so much easier when the boundary line is further away from the centre square. It really spreads the opposition. I think we try and spread them wide but just can't get it right. Lots more out on the fulls today just pushing it that bit too far out.

5) Experienced players can make in game adjustments because they have had more practice at it. We don't really have many that can do that. They still need to be told what adjustments to make which is why so many teams kick a string of goals against us before we can stem the flow. Midfield adjustments, positioning adjustments and match-up changes. We will get there but through the blind leading the blind really.

Although I suggested to others that we would lose by 9 goals, I knew it wouldn't be a case of losing each Q by 2 and a bit. Having had the usual 1 Q blow out in almost every game, I have not yet made up my mind whether I prefer the 1st Q shemozzle followed by the gutsy catch up football, or the hanging in there to be blown away in the 4th. Wouldn't it be great if there was another option?

Nasher. You are an administrator right?

Last week, rangerover started a thread,

"it's the cattle, stupid!"

This week, I started a thread,

"its the coach, stupid!", and you have decided to lock the thread.

How do you justify this action.

Lets see..

Take the NM list.. and pick their best 22 and compare to todays players and come up with a percentage of how manyof their best 22 took to the field today.

Take our list and do the same.

Compare those percentages.

Im guessing their % is far >>>>>>>>>>>>> than ours.

Its not that hard to understand some things, though some take it to an art form !!

The problem is we have had a poor list for a number of years, unfortunately a lot of our supporters actually believed our list was full of talented youngsters; it's not.

We have recruited too many players that just don't have the stomach for the hard work required to play the game nowadays and they never will; natural talent is no longer good enough anymore, that's what VFL Players have where there's no pressure. You can see the difference with Bennell, Dunn and Bate etc., they are fantastic at that level but that's it.

Neeld may not be the saviour but he's a realist and can see that our current list is full of holes and it's going nowhere so to do his job he is going to have to cull the deadwood and there's a lot to be culled; only when he has will we be able to see if he can coach or not, No one would be able to do much with the crap we've got.

I'll stick with the club and most will but dick wits like Bluey will get on here year after year telling anyone that will listen he's giving it all away.

I use my discretion. What you posted is basically the same as what you had already posted in this thread. We don't need a new thread for each and every one of your one idea.

Nasher, Please answer the question.

Piss off mate, I don't constantly refresh these threads waiting for you to ask me questions. Four minutes passed between your question and your demand for an answer.

On the way to the ground they interviewed Neeld and he was asked about Morton, he said Aghh! when asked why he said that was very round about and mentioned something about when you get the spread sheet with the players stats it doesn't tell you about their personality, from that I guess there is a problem with Cale and I would very much doubt he'll be there next year.

Neeld was clearly defending Morton and his "arrr" was a leader that Sheahan was wrong to frame the question against stats. He said that judging players on spreadsheets alone was wrong, and that you needed to take the whole package into consideration.

I disagree with that, Neeld was the one who brought up the stats, the reason they pounced on this was because he hesitated to defend Morton.

Gee you fired me up nasher. Your the boss, ok.

If you heard talk back radio after the game from older Melbourne supporters, ie, prior to 64, you would have heard genuine disgust with mark neeld, and the commentators did not disagree.

I, am now probably in the majority of supporters who think neeld is done. Many of us have seen enough.

This is a democracy correct?

I am saying, if neeld is not sacked by the board, there may be a challenge to the board. A new ticket if you will.

Why?

Because the board members gave g.Lyon to much authority and power of influence that resulted in a 5 year rebuild that has left us worse than we started.

Nb: Financially we are doing well because of stynes and wealthy supporters.

The need to justify an action by a figurehead is usually present in a Democracy.

This is a demonocracy-sometimes benevolent/sometimes not .

There is no way in hell I am paying for myself and my family (who never go and I'm an MCC member) to be MFC members next year. Say what you will but I'd much prefer to give my money to people who need it. Personally I think our list is ok but it's miles from a Premiership list and I don't trust this club to do what it takes to become a Premiership club. If we are seriously considering paying Cloke millions to play ordinary footy for us for 3 years and then spend his pre retirement playing seconds then we're more farked than I thought. I'm going to watch the better clubs play football for the rest of the season.

And what do you bring to the table apart from the shrill cry of sack the coach?

Do you honestly believe we have a good list, do you think we are actually better than we played today? How many of the players wearing the Melbourne Jumper would get a game at any other club?

Get it through your head we are crap because the players are crap, the coach wants them to achieve AFL fitness levels and they simply can't.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
