You might want to correct the 'Outs'. Was the third out Joel MacDonald, perhaps?

Tom McNamara was out twice ... out of the team, and out of the club.

When you have a look at that 25 player Demon side from last year, apart from injuries, the only changes are Morton and Moloney plus McNamara gorn. Not great turnover or improvement.

Part of that is due to bad luck, if Mitch Clark, Liam Jurrah, James Magner, Tom Couch, Rory Taggert and Tynan were playing there would certainly be a large changeover and a fairly large improvement (Mitch Clark is a large amount of improvement on his own!)

Made the trip across the boarder for this game.

Never seen a more disgracefully umpired game in my life.

I was just about to say that this game sticks out as the worst umpired game I can ever remember. I was at work watching it on TV; my colleague on the day thought I was mental. Gah, I'm getting angry again thinking about it.

I reckon it was the only time I have ever whinged about the umpiring of a game on Demonland afterwards too.

Really? It was that bad. I have never watched a game from adelaide. My brother had to sprint out of footy park after a final which the aints won a few years back. He said it was seriously scary.

So i haven't done it.

Hey WYL, they've got these new fandangled things called TV's these days. You no longer have to travel to Adelaide to watch matches there :)

I know the rules, even the ones the AFL changes from year to year. I was at the game and the fact that the Port supporters around me were laughing at their good fortune with a lot of the calls tells me that we were right to blame the umpires to some extent for the result.

I still can't work out why Aaron Davey didn't play this game.

He was suspended for the previous week, but was fit and available for this game. He also didn't play for Casey.

Most likely his wife was giving birth to his 43rd kid.(No cultural offence intended )

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
