Certainly was GTG and it came from absolutely nowhere because Bendigo was in control until halfway through the final quarter. That makes seven wins by 10 points or less for Casey and six by a goal or less. Not good for the old ticker!!!

thanks KC was gysberts in casey's best

Flower Power. I just added the goal kickers and best players to the post above from the end of the game.

Gysberts was probably in Casey's best to half time but was quiet in the third quartermand did a couple of good things in the last. Same goes for Morton although he was the better of the two. Spencer played a great game in the ruck and given the Russian's injury today, he should be back at Melbourne next week. Jack Fitzpatrick played well in patches - he could have kicked four today. One of his misses was a brain fade when he marked 15 metres out, tried to play on and messed upmhis shot for goal.

Jake Spencer had 45 hit outs and kicked the winning goal. Brent Moloney had 20 touches, 12 clearances and four tackles.

Other stats: Morton 27, Panozza & Gysberts 26.

Michael Evans had 19 disposals and two goals in limited game time in his first outing for the year after a back injury.

Mitch Gent played the first half in the development league game and was called up late to play in the seniors at Windy Hill. He finished the game with 19 disposals and kicked two vital goals in the final quarter.

The Scorpions defence was strong all day. Troy Davis worked hard down back and took some telling marks, Nev Jetta had 19 disposals, Brayden Salton had 24 touches and Michael Riseley did an important job on a tough opponent.

With the injury situation at Melbourne it's amazing that the Scorpions keep coming up every week. On top of that they have three of their own best players out with injury - Matthews, Lees and Nicholls - and yet they keep coming up every week with new players who adapt well to the game at this level.

Fortunately, they have a bye next week to charge the batteries and regenerate.

No so fortunate for Moloney i don't think - he'll be hard pressed to stake a claim for a recall during a bye. Did he do enough in this game?

By the way, thanks KC - your Casey news is one of the best things about Demonland and one of the reasons i have switched my VFL allegiance from Port to Casey (is that allowed?)

Great last quarter. Never say die attitude.

Spencer will be back next week. Hopefully he takes some confidence from his performance today.

Oh I suddenly feel ill, give me Fitzpatrick FITZPATRICK AND FITZPATRICK

Is it just me or did it look a lot like one of his teammates told him to turn and go? It looked like he was facing away from goal and heading back to take a shot, then abruptly turned and ran for it.

Either way, his first was an absolute gem. Reminded me of a couple of Buddy moments from last year.

I saw bits of this game - Morton did some nice things as well as some turnovers, Moloney did not dominate and got caught once or twice. Gysberts had his moments.

I thought Troy Davis looked impressive early until his shoulder went.

How did Jetta go today, getting closer to a call up? With Bennel out for the season it'll be good to get him in.

Quick question KC, how much to the Melbourne injuries hurt your chances, especially come finals time?

I liked Jetta's game today.

I thought he ran and linked up well. Disposal was good!

He will defintely play against Port in Darwin next week. He blitzed this game a year or two ago. I think he will rip it up again.

IN - Jetta, Spencer

OUT - Bennell, Jamar

I cant find any other in's unless Dunn or Watts are ready to go.

Hey KC, was wondering how little Nathan 'Ferret' Page went?

Really like the look of this little goal sneak. Reckon he might be worth a rookie selection.

Davis in the best again. Cops a big job in the Magoos each week. I hope he gets a chance soon with the seniors continually losing. Last year at Casey he and Tommy Mac combined well together up back, but this year has carried greater responsibility.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
