Jesus bloody Christ! First Morton, now Blease? What is this site coming to?

Sam blease today showed why he will be a good player, 3-4 times with his run and carry and disposal, showed numerous times why he is not up to it yet defensively, i just get annoyed as he won't put on defensive pressure.

He was better than green, Moloney, jamar, garland but I don't think he played anywhere near as good as he can! Just needs more time and I bet they will show him a few of his poorer efforts when he should have been chasing or giving off the first option

He fell over a couple of times today, which is a couple of times too many, but other than that, I'd definitely put him in our top ten players of the day.

Maybe we just look at the game differently, All players will make mistakes but I think the one thing that is in players control is their ability to pressure opponents, his should be top notch with his foot speed and it isn't, I want to see him front and centre more often, but chasing tail out of our forward half. Not to mention his decision making was pretty poor in general.

I really like blease don't get me wrong and I don't like bashing such a young player but he has all the attributes to be a complete player but sometimes I think he doesn't apply himself well enough, like some of our more senior players!

All good points. He's young, so he can definitely work on his defensive pressure. If that's the only thing you're basing your estimations of a person's performance on, then I'd have to lower my appraisal of him too.

If Neeld drops Blease for incredibly selfish football then I certainly wouldn't hold it against Neeld. Blease needs to get this out of his game pretty quick smart, but it comes from a lack of leaders setting the scene over the years - yes you Brad "chest mark on the goal line" or "won't handball to bloke in goal square" Green.

So Blease and Green are selfish footballers? Get a clue mate, stupid call.

I really think Trengove needs to be looked at.

53% disposal efficiency today - the worst in the team. Slow as a wet week, not just in foot speed but in decision-making. It's persisting and can't be swept under the rug cause he's captain or he's a #2 pick. He's laying some tackles but that's not good enough. He's close to being below AFL level atm.

If he's injured, and the only place I've seen reports that he is is on here, then stop playing him until he's FIT.

Green a definite out.

Jones used to get caught holding the ball going to buy milk.

He always did too much, he always tried to be better than he was.

Now he is our best midfielder by an absolute mile.

I don't care if Blease goes for a run and gets caught twice a game. He has played barely 20 games, and if that's what it takes for him to grow in confidence, then so be it. His pace and disposal are his assets. And as long as he goes hard when required, and two weeks in a row now he's copped heavy hits because he put himself in the middle of the contest, then let him be.

It's not selfish play if you're alone against 3 opponents and you burn them off with your pace. It's selfish play if you're Moloney and you try to blind turn 9 times when you have a teammate next to you waiting for the handball receive.

I'm not sure what his stats were last week- but he was obviously better, which suggests he is not unfit and it's a confidence thing. But something doesn't add up. If it is a confidence thing why is it so up and down? And if it's an injury, why isn't he being rested.

The team has a bye. If this doesn't freshen up his body and mind either we are doing something wrong by persistantly playing him or it's something else. Has me stumped

Can't believe those saying Sellar offered nothing, he took Dawes to the cleaners and thats two solid efforts in a row now, if he is dropped for GWS it will only be because there is no match up but could be needed if they decide to play GILES forward. Dunn another target offers vesersatility off the bench, can play as a defensive forward, run with player subs can be called upon ealry as happened with Didak today.

Blease in what game 7 had a few bad moments but the kid will be the better for exposure in a big game, Morton has footy smarts and knows how to run and spread but supporters continue to call for the whipping boys to be dropped and old favourites like Petterd to come in with no form.

Cook is not ready, Gysberts needs more game time and if we have a VFL game this week Martin needs another run and Dunn needs a full hit out. The Dees of 2011 would have rolled over today, really good heart and a will not to be smashed from the boys work in progress

And in closing Green kicked badly today but was brave in contests, he has been a loyal servant and if it is his last season he deserves to go out in a bit of style

Well don't start a discussion off by saying he was our worst player. That was rubbish. Keep the hyperbole out and state your case

Ummm Bartram.

Say what you like, he is damn important!

Yeah. Just a hunch, but I think Bartram's probably gone past Whelan at this stage. Highly underrated and incredibly important to our structure. It's no coincidence that Jarryd Blair et all destroyed us off the deck today. Even the lumbering ruckmen were grubbing gimme goals off the back of packs today.

I said possibly, But it does depend on how you look at the game as who was not our best, but as I said he will be a jet once he gets everything sorted and it's just a bit of a change to his mental game, he is like a lot of quick players who come out of the junior ranks and only wants to run, I hope after another one or two pre seasons we have a Lewis Jetta on our hands

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
