Brad Green, Aaron Davey, Brent Moloney - Melbourne's "star" senior players everyone. Not the greatest start to the year for them.

Could be the start of the leadership change fallout... Although we are only 1 quarter into the season

If any one needed to be shown why Trengove is a capt they need only be here today. He's taken to it like a duck to water.

Overall it's not a lot to cheer about . Some sublime moments ruined by some very loose manning in defense. We are not getting a clean first use at stoppages. Endeavor is good, execution is so so. Magnet a terrif find.

Hopefully we'll see some better footy in second half

Is it wrong that I'm over this season already?

Yes it is wrong, considering we're still in the game and our senior players are showing Neeld what they're really made of. The sooner he learns what we already know about them, the better off we'll be.

Doesn't matter who you have in the forward line we can't buy a bloody clearance fair dinkum!

Davey isn't AFL standard anymore hate to say it. He watches and hopes for a dish out. He's lost his pace and his little 15 metre passes do nothing.

Moloney is doing nothing.

Jones started good and went a bit quiet. Good signs by Magner and Tynan showing a bit of heart. Bail very good, Martin showing signs and if Howe could hang on to his marks he would be a lot better.

This is going to be a long, long season. God we lack midfield class and it is plain for all to see!

No heart. No determination. No guts.

So far today, an embarrassment for our entire club.

If they can't turn it around today, I think I'm done.

I know it's Round 1 blah blah blah, but enough is enough, we will never have more reason to win than today and we still can't muster up a decent effort.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
