Poor old number 31, despite featuring the great Ron Barassi, does not feature well in this poll. The last #31 doesn't bear thinking about!

11 - Anderson , Mithen , Stynes , Wells

12 - Mueller , Spencer , Viney , Sylvia

9 - Dixon , Alan Johnson , Neitz , Trengove , Fowler

16 - Bickford , Big Bob Johnson , Travis Johnstone , Laidlaw , Lovell , Townsend , Grimes

2 - Flower , McKenzie , Rowarth , Tingay , Nathan Jones

Nicely done Bobby . I could have had no.16 higher on pure weight of numbers but I found it hard enough splitting 11 , 12 and 9 .

14 is a very good one now with Ivor in .

Cheers , Macca

Unfortunately, I had trouble coming up with any other worthwhile no 31 to go along with the great Ronald Dale. Can you come up with any?

Paul Wheatley?

Sorry Gippy. I did omit to include Laurie Fowler in the #9 list. Have done so now.

Well done. I'll put a 31 list now.

Make sure that Ronald Barassi Snr is on there also...

No 31 Ray Groom missed the '64 gf through injury. A very good player, later became Tassie Premier. Also, wasn't Ross Dillon 24? and "Peter" Townsend! Great job and an enjoyable read.

Always liked the number 12 in this category, with 2 champions of the game + a terrific player in Todd Viney, and hopefully another star if Col can take his game to where it should be.

Adding Alan La Fontaine to #17 gives it a lift, as too for #16 adding Bob Johnson snr, and Pete Townsend's brother John. Number 35 has its moments, for a high number.

Peter Townsend was meant to be John Townsend. Getting mixed up with Royalty! Has been rectified.

Yes #9 is right up there. My personal order is: 12,11,9,35,and 2. #16 certainly is up there too.

The Numbers I wore on my jumpers growing up up were

3 Peter Marquis a great strong backman.

6 Bluey Adams pure speed.

9 Dicko. The fastest mark to boot exponent.

That group hasn't let me down much over the years.

Include Allen Jackovich to the 13 which makes it a bit more impressive.

It is like picking your favorite child. I will go with 12, just ahead of 16 and 9.

I have just added Allen to the No 13 list. Starting to look impressive too!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
