The Jordan Lisle Thread

If I am not mistaken, that is an article from yesterday afternoon (5:27pm), before the AFL came out and publicly said that this deal could not go ahead.

well here's what to look forward to if we pick up lisle...

Young player shanks a kick for goal in his first match? Oh no, obviously a dud. Delist him now.

Have a look at his breathing as he's lining up for goal. He's so nervous he's on the brink of a heart attack. Give him a break.

Regardless of whether we pick him up or not, it's a bit unfair to tar and feather him over one bad miss... if that were to be used as a selection criteria, Neitz would never have pulled on the red and blue, Buddy would be playing country league, as would Riewoldt and numerous others.

Well said, I watched that game and although he was obviously nervous and kicked poor he showed real, real promise in what was his first game. Took plenty of lead up marks and had plenty of opportunity to kick a big bag in game 1.

Wow he sounds just like Brad Miller mark 2, let's go after him. BTW Nasher Addam Maric was like that with his first kick at goal, and guess what? He never got any better.

Dutchy Holland school of kicking

Funny how another clubs fringe players get talked up at trade time

Yeah we might as well trade one player who can't get a game with us, Warnock, for another player who can't get a game with Hawthorn, Lisle, who in all probability won't get a regular game with us.

His player profile for anyone that's interested:

Bear in mind that he'll be 22 next year and that we all know that KPP take longer, let's not bury him just yet.

I honestly couldn't give a rats either way if we get him or not.

They're a pretty smart bunch down at Hawthorn and they don't give good players away, they hang on to them.

Josh Kennedy says hello ( And Ben McGlyn also waves - although I think he still would be borderlne at Hawks)

Edit - the reason they would be giving Lisle away is the same reason the two above were released - there are players at Hawthorn ahead of them. They gave Kennedy away as they believed there to be better options in the midfield - however it goes back to what I have banged on about for ever and a day - in so many cases, you dont know what you have got until the player reaches 23/24 years of age. Therefore you are at risk trading out these young players that havent reached any sort of maturity

Thanks Bean,

I think you have hit the nail on the head.

lol. it was only a bit of a joke.

optimistic side is: he's young, and he was going for his first goal in afl. It was in tassie, so there was probably a massive wind pushing it left to right. ;)

I'm sure he'll be fine.

Looks like none other than the MCG to me.

These guys can play, and would be best 22 at the hawks imo

But... the point is valid, they dont let talent go the Hawks or if they do its for some value so they dont generally look stupid

Hardest team to trade with and against

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
