With who?

Does it matter loges? For all we know, BLWNBA might work at a kindergarten! Maybe even a morgue!!!

God i miss Chilliboy something chronic. As for YM, i'm sure they're (was their gender ever confirmed?) out there somewhere, doing what they do best. I loved how whenever we picked a kid they didn't agree with, the world came crashing down, only for them to do a complete 180 after some posters showed their enthusiasm. Case in point - Jack Grimes over Alex Rance. :)

Yeah well if it eventuates, I'll be the first to come over and give you a big hug, but until such time, I ain't gonna count the chickens til they hatch.

Hardly claiming that it will happen, thus the reason for posting it in the 'rumour' thread.

North Melbourne decided Hamish McIntosh should not represent Werribee yesterday against Williamstown in the PF. Despite Majak Daw missing with a broken finger, it was a bit of a surprise that a fit McIntosh was held back. Williamstown went onto smash Werribee in the ruck with big Will Minson.

Perhaps for trade value....

North have stated they're going to be aggressive this trade period and McIntosh has been mentioned all year with links to Richmond, GWS etc.

Putting their foot down may just be confirmation, given North heirarchy also were heard to mention trade period....you didn't hear it from me. :P

No interest from our club I would have thought, but trade news nevertheless.

Interesting that we made a play for Hale last year - I would suggest that Stef Martin stepping up the way he did was not factored into the decision to go for Hale.

Rumour that Mick Malthouse is telling anyone asking about his availability next year, that his assistants are better than the average bear.

Not so much to help them out as much as he doesnt want to leave the incoming coach anything, any [censored] thing at all.

I'm getting jealous - I thought you would come and watch Jack Viney last weekend.

Green doesn't want to re-sign and is looking for other opportunities, also Sidebottom and Pendlebury want to follow Neeld over to the dees!

Haven't heard about Sidebottom and Pendles, but have heard that same rumour about Green. Not happy with management, is not expecting to sign. Neeld may have changed his mind however.

I can't see any other club picking Green up, so it's sign or retire.

Just want to write this and see what people think...

Brad Green has been a Melbourne player since 1999.

He has played 241 games.

He has won games off his own boot.

He has ran with the flight of the ball and nearly killed himself more than once.

He turned down more money and success at Collingwood so he could remain a loyal one club player.

He has given everything that he possibly could of himself to the Melbourne Football Club.

However he had 1 bad year as a captain in 2010.

Brad Green may or may not be finished, next year will decide that.

But the fact that supporters of the Melbourne Football Club sit in judgement and declare he shouldn't be offered a deal and maybe he should retire is a disgrace.

So he wasn't a good captain... Wow then we should delist him.

What if Trengove is a bad captain and we suck in '12? What if Frawley is a bad captain and we suck in '12?

Just take the captaincy off Greeny, it isn't that hard and it is all the MFC need to do in regards to Green.... Just let him play care free again.

Whether he stays or goes, is good or bad, he at the very least deserves the slightest bit of respect.

Or do we want another James Mcdonald situation? Pay respect to the people who have come before and what they have done.

Let's remember, at this stage of the year, everything should be treated as a rumor. But I have heard (and I trust and honour my source enough to not give details) that Brad Green is not confident of playing next year. That is all.

I love Greeny, with the same passion I have for every other bloke who walks onto that field in the red and blue. And I would be sad to see him go. I am simply saying what has been rumored.

My comment about him signing or retiring is my opinion. But name me one other side desperate for a forward flanker, age 30+, who would have just been released by the most under-performing team of 2011.

Where did anyone declare in this thread that Green shouldn't be offered a deal (another contract) D32 ?

Please assist me in this mirage of yours.

I think you've put words into Deefence's mouth....

Green is still in NY i think he'll sign when he gets back

Pendelbury rates Neeld very highly i'd take him any day he'd demand more cash than he who must not be named

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
