The Brad Crouch Thread

Whispering_Jack

Recommended Posts

We shoul be okay as Adelaide are not after Crouch - they want an SA lad. Discussed on Trade Week Radio.

GWS aren't expected to be using all their allocated 17 year old picks during this draft they are

expected to only use 2 and use 2 next year. Which means that next year what's stopping them from

going after Crouch as the next best pick in the mini draft. It all hinges on the AFL's ruling regarding the

the O'meara proposal 2 days to find out if they screw us again.

If Crouch, or any of the others, doesn't go in the mini draft this year then they'll be eligible for the National Draft next year.

Next year they'll be a whole new bunch of 17 year olds to pick from in the mini draft.

I dont believe there is a mini draft next year. This whole mini draft is another form of assistance for GWS to build a team. Next year the draft goes back to normal, so pretty sure it wont be around.

Nah they can trade the 4 picks over 2 years, i would assume picks not traded this year will be available for a new batch of 17yo's next year

The rules state that GWS have four selections over 2 years that they are able to trade. I thought that's why they were likely to trade 2 this year and 2 next year?

Ahhh yep forgot the "over 2 year" aspect. Cheers.

I have a Gut feel that they'll sell 3 U-17's this year, & keep one for next year, as next years draft is said to be super strong. They may find it more difficult to get good prices next year.

So for me they will sell 3 kids.

Still doesn't make sense the way I read it, I would say today stalled more to the point no one knows if it is actually able to be done or not. At the end of the day looks like GWS are the main winners.

Early games being played in trade week as usual

Being reported on BF that AFL have pulled the pin on Mini Draft Pick one being traded back to GWS

Apparently just Tweeted on AFLInsider

Same but have you seen O'meara's highlight package? Wow!

I have and agree but the way GW$cum are playing this I have a feeling we will miss out as will the others. They can finish last next year and take him with pick 1 unless of course Port get a priority; watch the AFL change the rules if they do.

The other thing of course is that some of these kids are super trainers and stand out among the other kids their age, some may come back to the pack when the other kids mature. You get a group of kids with similar ability and see if anyone stands out then look at his training regime compared to the other kids; bet there is a huge difference.

I'd be wary of Adelaide.

They have pick 10 to our pick 12, and they have an "after 1st round pick" just like ours, but with their supposed exodus I'd expect them to finish lower than us in 2012.

If we're thinking of only using the one compo pick, we may get trumped.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but the mini-draft is stealing some of the top talent from the "super draft".

It's sometimes hard to tell from these short highlight packages, but this didn't exactly set the world on fire.

I concur with your thoughts on short highlights packages. That said, from the several instances shown of Crouch in this clip, he certainly shows quick reactions in close to be the first to the ball and a bit of nous in his delivery by hand and foot.

Could always see more though, but I like what I see here.

I'm starting to think that maybe it's not a bad idea that we don't get a mini draft pick and have to deal with GWS.

This whole trade week scenario so far seems absurd.

GC Suns have at least come into the competition with some integrity. GWS so far have none.

He was busy and got about the ground well and reads the play getting to the footy.

But to me missed too many targets, especially by hand. I just think a player like his style needs to be more Elite, with hitting targets 'lace out' by Hand.

He's be handy, looks like a ball Magnet, but?

I'm coming back to O'Meara.

OR, If not, a Docherty, or other elite skilled kid that sneaks up.

Honestly, I'd be happy just to keep our picks as they are now & use them next year in the 2012 Super Draft where we'd have been able to see the U-18 boys in real TAC situations as mature, not (U-17). We'd see a better representation.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
