Matthew Warnock wants out

Matthew Warnock has told melbourne he wants to be traded. I dont blame him. He is obviously frustrated with his lack of opportunity in senior level this season. He has only played 4 games. But I think our backline is something we have got right and is pretty settled.

Anyway best of luck whereever he ends up. Cant we send him to GWS as our only player they can have instead of scully.

Hawks desperately want him. Shore up a position as one of their Talls. reckon we could get second round pick. Defenders like him hard to get- given we have Riv,Chip and Garland, he has been surplus. All the best to him, a very honest player.

Fair enough really. Good backup for us but only to get games if others are injured.

I was surprised we ruled him off the table at the end of last season when a couple of teams were showing interest.

At another club i beleive he could play a good couple of years of senior AFL footy.

Would much rather a player than a 2nd round pick to be honest...

Harf just said on sen that warnock has asked the club to be traded, the article is on (sportsnews first)

Not sure how to assign a link to this post, so if someone can that would be great!!

I can see us doing a 'Walsh Trade' with someone.

(Minor pick upgrade)

You don't need to be sherlock holmes to work this one out, we are getting thumped he is playing well at Casey and can't get a game. You can include Adam Maric to this and it wouldn't supprise me if Matt Bate and Lyndon Dunn will be in the same boat.

Not necessarily a bad way of going about it. If we can get something like this done early in trade week (yeah I know it usually drags out) it still gives us a chance of getting a mature player of some description if we want to en-trade a pick to get it done.

PS Mods may want to merge Warnock threads.

I'd say "request granted" (if we can find a home). Like rpfc said, I'd be happy with a "Walsh trade" - it's the least we can do for a player who has served us well in what was overall a shitty time for the club.

Good luck Matty.

I still think he is underrated. I would rather keep him than Rivers. Taller, Faster, can actually play on a forward. Imagine how Warnock could play if he had the luxury of not having to be responsible for a direct opponent like Rivers often does.

Haha was thinking the same thing.

If only we didn't stuff up that Ferguson trade!

Great minds think alike TD

Here's our chance to right that wrong. Sewell's 27yo, in good nick and probably got three

good years of footy left in him.

Put him straight in the guts to mentor and protect Trengove and co.

Next you'll be telling me the sky is blue..! ;)

I hope Warnock gets a gig somewhere else because he's way back in the queue at Melbourne.

We should be able to find a trade that is win/win for all involved, and I don't think we'll need much to make it happen.

I'd think that it might be a little better than a Walsh trade, but maybe not.

Wow, really?

I think Rivers (along with Frawley and Garland) has been great this year.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
