Thats where Ned Kelly got it wrong.

Had he been wearing a Pies jumper at Stringbark creek he could have gone up before the MRP and had his 3 shooting charges downgraded from intentional to reckless

Reckless Kelly - slightly humourous movie, but no Young Einstein.

He's having a laugh isn't he?

I'm not so sure Jack, a few players have been given weeks in recent years for the slightest.

One was a Collingwood player if I'm not mistaken, possibly also a Saints players? In the pocket at the Dome?

Tribunal is satisfied that the conduct was intentional, as assessed by the MRP. The level three offence stands. With deduction for his good record the offence is worth 168.75 points and he's out for a week.

Daisy's appeal failed. Still out for a week.

Hrm...if his appeal failed already, he'd be out for two...

Ah OK, I didn't realise his good record still applied.

Thomas out - good news.

A mate of mine just told me he was following the proceedings on the AFL website where Mark Macgugan 'live' states the arguments the lawyers are making, allows people to post comments and answers some questions. But he censored any posts my mate made which commented negatively on the defence evidence presented. Typical sham AFL.

Upped from 122 points with a guilty plea to 168 points, so still only one week.

Think they were grasping at straws suggesting the arm swing was aimed at the ball.

Yes. I hope his coach doesn't think he was cheating by making such a patently absurd claim.

Yeah, one of the more ridiculous defences I've heard. The ball was nowhere near at the time and in any event, I've never seen a player try to clear the ball from the bottom of a pack with a roundhouse. Ever.

I wonder whether that as Daisy's defense has been shown to be misleading whether Malthouse will come out and discuss the virtues of lying.

As Mick seems focussed on taking the moral high ground maybe he will tack on a club enforced additional weeks sanction.

We are in with a show this week make no bones about it. Match up well in defence, two of their best three out, our tails up ..... Said it in another thread, a QB boilover is brewing.

Be careful. Collingwood players will be fired up to prove they can win without some of their stars.

Of course if we win, it will be because of their outs. If we lose excrement will be lowered onto us given the circumstances. Hmmm, a lose lose situation.....

lol trying to knock the ball away.... If I was on the MRP I would have been flat out insulted. The ball was already meters away from the contest, and Daisy had his head up looking at the play. He really deserves 2 but oh well, same diff to us. If Tappy was back I would have actually half wanted him to play. Anybody see Josh Hunt on the weekend against the bulldogs? Our Tappy is not too far off that level I reckon!

If we win this, it's a big win whatever the outs are. Their depth is excellent, ours is kids with under 10 games experience.

I fear their lesser names, one of them always seems to get under our guard, like Dick.

It's about time Moloney dominated the clearances against a good team, this for me is the key to getting close / winning, we match up well in a lot of places, but we need Moloney to lead the kids out of the middle.

Playing in Collingwoods forward half will be instant death.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
