i remained real positive until the last couple of days. i think scully is gone. would ahve atleast give us a hint by now that he would like toatleast stay at the club nope. as david king said on 3AW he will look like a silly man if he has signed after coming out with that press conference.

Posted

Definately gone,GWS should be made to give up pick 1,2 or 3 for Tom,not pick 17-30

Demetriou F@$&ked the AFL,give yourself another payri$e,[censored].

Tide has only turned by simpletons who believe everything the media says.

Funny how Watts put off contract negotiations last year till after the season and no-one said squat.

Exactly .

Listened to Sheehan before the game .

Stated how he was at the press conference where Scully declared he hadn't signed anything .

Chose to disregard this info from the horses mouth and feels from "Gut instinct" he gone .

Parasitic Peanut should just tell Scully he's a liar to his face .

scully doesnt have to lie about anything

gets to the end of the year, says he never signed anything with GWS in 2010 and then signs a contract with them later this year

we all know thats not the truth but it will get him out of being a liar, same as ablett who kept sayin he hadnt signed anything but probs had

no one remembers him as a liar

Posted

Like i've said on here before, so its ok to lie as long as you can cover it up. Don't think so! Again what kind of parents encourage a 19 year old that this behaviour is OK. Some people like to encourage strong character traits in their children, not lying because you can somehow cover it with doubletalk

sorry to tell u every club and every player tells white lies and it will only get worse with free agency etc

its what the afl creates, tom wouldnt lie in life and wont get remembered as one but has to bend the truth like taylor walker and palmer for the next 6 months

ur makin it sound like he is a habitual liar which he isnt, just a tough circumstance where he has too

ablett did it last year, so did others who are morally fine - its just the awkward position

u need to understand the system and decision before u make comments like that

u may disagree but its the system, get used to it

Spot on, and I'd be able to live with myself too if my lie helped further secure the financial position of me and my family.

I love a good but of pessimism. It makes my day so much more entertaining.

I have another thought for everyone. The Ox would presumably have gotten his information from people around the club right? It stands to reason that this is his source, rather than random members of the GWS staff, Andrew Demetriou's PA, or Tom Scully's manager's dog. If this is the case and the management at Melbourne know for a fact that he is leaving, then not coming clean and telling their membership is a massive betrayal of trust. I would go as far as saying it's a 10,000 member loss for the next few years to breach faith with the faithful in such a manner. Surely if the club were certain he was gone they would be telling the world and giving the game time to someone who was going to go forward with the club.

Logically, the current stance by the club is that of people who believe that he is staying, or at the very least undecided. Therefore I question whether the Ox truly has the information he seems to think he has. Where exactly are his sources placed that they have such information? Obviously not Melbourne FC. If it comes from GWS then it can be written off as crap designed to sow discord and aid them in pinching players. There is absolutely no reason for anyone in the AFL hierarchy to know the details of Tom's contract negotiations until it is signed, sealed and delivered, so no useful sources from AFL house either.

Sorry to the doom and gloom brigade, but there is simply no logic in the Ox's claims. The only source of credible information would be from within the club, and it is simply not logical that they would be taking such a self-destructive public stance on the situation if they were convinced that he was gone. I simply don't buy it.

Watts & Real DEmon I bow to your lack of standards

I heard from 3 officials today. One thinks he may go. Two think he may stay.

This is how it stands at the moment - no one knows for certain either way.

Looks like we will have to wait till after the season ends.

some people just cant handle the truth.......

I know Im looking for clues but sitting behind the interchange today I noticed that most players slap each other coming off and on.

There are no lower and quicker hand slaps than those given back to the hand held out by TS. probably nuthin'..

A fantastic young football player, and I hope to God he stays a Dee. I understand how hard the situation must be for him, but if he does go, forget Milne, Ballantyne and O'Brien - he will be my most hated player in the AFL by leagues.

Thats what I thought this was about telling the truth, its the lies I can't handle(not saying he has lied)

I think this old town wont be big enough for both TS and Demon supporters next year. Just get back to the Qantas club Tom.

Certainly there's logic to it. Read my post (#636 on the previous page).

He has said on SEN that his main source (4 weeks ago) was from within GWS, and it was confirmed by sources within MFC, make of it what you will.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
