I think the yardstick should be around 70 points

I fear though it will be a lot less

Still, I live in hope we can break our lethargy and have a BIG win

Ridiculous thread.

You all have short memories.

Shut this thread.

Quality time.

What would happen if we lost by 45 points?

We will not be very happy.

Demonland will explode.

I will not be going to work next week.

We will definately not be playing finals football this year.

Lets set 'par' at +60 points. 20 points per stroke. I hope for a birdie (80 points) or an eagle (100 points). However, we haven't played this course before, so would settle for par. Then into the 19th hole (the bye). However...If we get a triple bogey its a draw. A quadruple bogey and they win by 20!

We don't play 4 quarters, so how can we expect to thrash anyone? Dees by 3-4 goals.

Don't know if it was the last time, but I was there when Melbourne smashed Carlton by 105 points in 2004, round 6. They beat us by 5 goals in round 21 later that year.

Bruce kicked 7 goals in that match...

This forum would implode for one. In all seriousness, if this were to occur, the whole playing group should hang their hands in shame. Bailey should start looking for a new job too. The team needs to show some grunt and show the football world they are not soft and easy targets. The fact that many people see Melbourne as the Suns' first possible win only highlights the poor perception this club has from non-supporters (and some supporters mind you).

Cannot see it happening.

I think we'll start well (no I have not been drinking) and it's easier to bypass CHF at the Gabba - where we've been breaking down.

Once it's in the suns d50 they'll struggle. Once we're on top they'll panic, we're fitter and will run it out.

Our skills will be sharpened after two wet slogs and conditions will be suited to our flashy softies.

However I like Dappa Dan's view in another thread that struggling for a 2 goal win would be a better result.

The last thing this team needs is to feel comfortable after flogging the easy beats and enjoy a week off. We have a healthy list that should do everything possible to improve over the bye and prepare better than they ever have for the trip West.

We need a big enough win to at least push our percentage above 100. At the moment it is well blow our rivals for the top 8. We need to correct that going into the tougher part of the season after the bye

By 37 points. But I will be over the moon with another win. They feel they can beat us and they are an improving side and be at home.

weve played at the gabba more times then they have

Actually I think a solid loss would be the best thing for the club at the moment. Turn the heat to full and see how the club as a whole responds in the ensuing 8 weeks.

if we loose bailey must resign, simple as that. the ground has no bearing on the game, my mates tell they will win 5-6 games this year. they are a good three years devolopment wise behind last years wooden spooners. then someone tells me they have some good kids, yeah....well so do we, and some of ours are just starting to find their feet.

Absolutely, there is nothing better for a football club than a loss

The mind boggles!

perticularly after a close win over the Lions. I would just be happy for a win, a four quarter performance would be what the coaching staff would want. Moloney for bog.

Yeah we were supposed to build on our percentage last week too! And that didn't go to plan.. You're dead right though much easier to make up percentage now, than later on. Big win needed!

Haha good point, and outta all the interstate grounds we do best there!

I would be charged with 23 counts of aggravated assault if we lost

Gee, you're being a bit harsh on the sub !

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
