As Al Pacino said in Any Given Sunday, "there's a point where this game has to be about more than just winning games of football..."

Fevola does not belong at MFC and anyone that thinks he would be a good fit there is unfortunately not very intelligent.

Fin.

Unfortunately thats been MFC's problem for a few years now!!!!! I wish there was a point where winning games did become a priority.

Winning flags become the priority at the start of 2008.

That's what I would prefer to win.

im certainly not a massive fan of fev but would love to see scully burst through and hit a leading fev lace out. or watts as a lead up chf then pinpoint fev. only if he ges his [censored] together.

When Fev had his dreads we used to call him "Side Show Bob" and like that character Fev's moments of contriteness and recognition that he is just one part of a larger team dissapear when the alcohol or pressure reveal his true narcissistic core. Having said that, I'd get so much amusement watching the MFC tear the Blues apart with Fev in our forward it would almost me worth the inevitable calamity that is Side Show Bob.

That last line is you not allowing reality in to the situation.

He is 30, and has his injury problems.

By the time our window is open (and no-one think that Fev with a decent midfield can win you a flag - Brett Ratten would tell you otherwise) Fev will be gone or going and we will have to find another to kick our goals.

We have to continue what we are doing, and not waiver.

HaHaHa! Side Show Mel has more chance of playing FF for Melbourne than Fev, but yes i do love your dream of smashing carlton!

Let the circus begin! I heard Cam Schwab on SEN last week saying he was against Fev playing at Casey. Interesting to see how this plays out. Casey will win the GF If Fev behaves. That's a big IF...

I like the idea of Fev playing in the VFL, got this feeling like he's gonna be a big fish in a small pond, kicking double digits several times this year. Will attract a lot more interest to VFL footy.

Not so keen on the idea of Fev being at Casey.

i can't believe this decision by Casey, it shows how much they listen to their AFL affiliate club. In my eyes this is purely a dollars decision and not a footy decision

Fev is a cancer

The best case scenario would be for Fev to behave himself, earn respect from the Melbourne Footy club and we draft him for 2 years when we're giving the top 8 a shot. A forward line of Fev and Jurrah would scare the crap out of the comp.

Otherwise what a waste of time from a development point of view.

everyone thought brown and fev would scare the crap out of the comp

They did. For a FEW weeks...

This is good for Casey as a club, he'll bring fans to them.

I hope he doesn't eff it up. And maybe guys like Tom McDonald and our other defenders can learn how to defend against a talented and big bodied forward.

And the decision by the MFC to play Watts against the Pies for his first game wasn't? of course the course of action taken by Casey is partly a money situation, they have to survive as well, if he can contain himself for the year he can teach some of our young picks a bit about football, if not he will get the chop quick smart.

Being reported on herald sun website, although there source is the leader newspaper.

Is this is a good decision for the Melbourne football club - probably not.

Is this very exciting for the Scorps - hell yes!

Posted

I don't have a problem with it. He is a scorpian player, not a dee and would only associate with our players on match day. Besides we don't have any full forwards training down at casey. Will give some of our young mids an opportunity to learn to kick to a real full forward.

Casey is Fevs home town anyway.

Posted

At the end of the day, Casey is looking purely for a cash grab. They are going to cash it on this, big time.

Posted

good luck to fev...cut from two clubs...third time lucky?

Totally agree. Next step- DEMONLAND.

Posted

Whats done is done.

The main problem I see from watching Carlton and brissy (with brown out) kick the ball to fev 9/10 times because like it or not the bastard is quick and presents as a target everytime when the midfield looks up.

Lucas cook won't get a look in.

Posted

Maybe with some of the money Casey make out of this they can fix up the bloody ground!

We have to get games into Cook and Howe, I hope this doesn't stuff up there development.

What will become of Juice?

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
