Disappointed about the jumper clash

Whose turn was it to don (pardon the pun) the non - clash strip?

We all know the game is beyond hectic with many, many close stoppages and reflexes need to be lightning.....

It was difficult to discern the strips, regardless of the shorts. It was tough to watch.

The Demons had decided against wearing their predominantly white strip because a production error in China meant the yoke on the jumpers turned out pink rather than red.

"We did approach Melbourne to wear their clash guernsey last night, that was our preference, but it had been sent off to be redone because they were dissatisfied with the colour," AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson told afl.com.au.

Essendon wore their clash jumper (a farce that it is) wider red sash. IMO makes it look even more like our jumper.

I would have rather gone with our white jumper, even if New Balance haven't got the red correct yet.

I found the white shorts the Demons wore a help in distinguishing the teams. But another complication for the viewer (and possibly players) was the white strappings some Essendon players wore negated this.

Even if there are different clash jumpers it would be good if the strapping matched the shorts at least roughly. But I'm not holding my breath on this minor one when the AFL gets the major ones so wrong so often.

It was our home game. I thought after last years home game against Essendon the AFL were going to make the bombers create a proper clash strip?

Then again the only time we play them will be round 11, which is Essendon's home game.

They aren't fixed , they're redone , replaced. The white clash strip would have been somewhee. Sounds like more bs from Boy Robin !!

The AFL is an absolute disgrace! This game was touted as a Melbourne home game. It was therefore Essendon's job to turn up in a suitable, predominantly white, clash jumper. The fact the AFL has thus far failed to succeeed in forcing that mob at Essendon to tow the line is a joke!

What a joke. Firstly, should of been our home game because not only did we play in Adelaide last week, but also on points/percentage.

The fact the AFL actually asked us to wear our white strip is a clear example of Essendon's inability to produce an adequate clash strip.

Everyone knows a clubs true and traditional jumper, so it really does suck when they try and use history and tradition as an excuse.

No one club is bigger than the game itself.

If you think that they clash you must have a problem. For years we've played Essendon without having to worry about clash strips. WE WORE WHITE SHORTS AS WELL. And we weren't able to wear our white one cos it still wasn't fixed to teh proper red

Our new darker blue and red made it that much harder to watch on TV.

Essendon needs to get a clash strip.

AFL should simply say - you play in a clash strip if we tell you (and it has to be an away game) or you forfeit any points you may win from the game.

We'll see how serious the are about getting a decent clash strip.

My wife mentioned the same thing about the white strapping making it difficult to distinguish.

What I don`t understand is if it was our home game why didn`t we wear blue shorts?? As a side note, EFC used to wear red shorts in the 70`s and 80`s(looked shizen), but why not wear them against us, I reckon it would assist distinguishing the 2 a whole lot easier.

Anyway, get a white strip you righteous tossers!!!
