I was having a chat about footy with a mate of mine ( yes, even if he does go for Collingw&%$) He surprised me by saying that in our lifetimes ( we are both the same age), Melbourne has been much more successful in the way of premierships. He pointed out Collingw&%$'s premiership years as 1958 ( Ahh, I still haven't got over that one yet), 1990 and 2010.( A total of just 3 ). Melbourne, in my time on this earth have achieved no fewer than 10 PREMIERSHIPS. 1939, 1940, 1941, 1948, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1959, 1960, and 1964. I'm pleased to say that I don't remember 1939-1941 but I was around. Sadly, it looks like I've put all my eggs into the one basket and like you all the drought has been far too long. Let us hope that we can very soon break the hoodoo.

Unfortunately, like most MFC supporters/members I am yet to witness a Melbourne premiership. Hopefully they can add a modern flag to the tally very soon so you no longer need to rely on the distant past for bragging rights. Beating Colling#$$@# in the process would do just fine, too.

What's the deal with the dollar-signs and hash marks? It's Collingwood we're talking about, not Voldemort. The world won't cave in if you write their name.

We're 6-1 against Collingwood in Grand Finals, too.

We also have the highest win-loss ratio in grand finals... something like 70%!

Only Adealide is better, thanks to their 2 from 2 in the 90s.

I thought it was against Demonland policy to write the word COLLINGWOOD! There Chook, I have done it!

That would be Demonology.

Without working it out, I think we are equal first (or maybe 1 behind) for premierships since 1926.

Carlton and Essendon are close also.

That's a pretty uninteresting stat though, because you could basically just fiddle with the date ranges until you get the result you want. Collingwood are kicking our arses at premierships since 2010!

sober up folks, they have MORE cups than us. And we have done nothing of real note in the modern era . Getting whipped twice in GFs doesn't really amount to much. They ARE the reigning premiers. Give them credit for that. I don't like it but that's the reality. We need to change that .

It's NOT fiddling with stats to note that 3 flags in the last half century to the "Man. U. of the AFL " ( from Eddie of course !) hardly matches the ridiculous hype !

Cups were first presented in 1959. So no, we have more legitimate cups than them. Recreated cups prior to 59 don't count. They won penants back then.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
