Didn't seem any more lost than someone like Dom Barry in his first couple of games.

Just sayin'.

Not exactly the standard I would ask.

Clearly, Nasher. I'm just pointing out that whilst he clearly isn't up to the grade, saying he looked 'completely lost' at AFL level after a couple of games is a bit silly.

But, he did. How much value you place on him being lost is up to you, but he looked lost.

I don't think he's good enough. Is that phrasing more to your liking?

Probably a bit too left field TD, but nothing wrong with outside the box. It's the proposals everyone scoffs at that can sometimes be the best.

He did seem utterly lost at AFL level though.

While I don't disagree with your last sentence, to be fair he was played forward in those 2 games he played, where as at Casey 99% of the time he was played back.

Fair enough, I'm not in a position to watch Casey to make a judgement on his form. The backline isn't a huge concern for mine. Frawley will be a loss, but even If he leaves, someone like Pedo could slot back in with Hogan to come into the side. Garland too will obviously need to return to something resembling his 2013 form. I would also a suggest that the LAST thing we need is another defender who can't kick.

I don't want to lay the boot into the guy, but I didn't see anything that said he could be an AFL player. I'll leave it to those much wiser to make such a call, but it would be a big one.

I had high hopes for Troy Davis as well. I posted recently on ology that I think he would be worth looking at as a rookie draft prospect if Frawley was to leave. Always seemed to have a bit of mongrel and desire about him, and at 21/22 there is plenty of time to flourish as a KPP. Would likely never be a champ but would be solid backup if required, especially if he was given a limited role or job to do, ala Georgiou.

Some people are very harsh on our young blokes, which is often well founded, but I heard nothing but good things about Troy's attitude and that is one of the most important things you need in your back-up players.

Weird reactions here. The kid is 21, and has never looked terrible.

Why the hate?

Because he is average. Very, very average. Would not improve the list one bit.

This whole page seems to have become confused. Are we talking about Davis or Barry here??? (hint: thread header says Davis)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
