Ashley Hansen

As flagged in the weekend press, the Eagles have serious salary cap problems and are very vulnerable to raids from GWS, Natnui being the obvious target since he comes from Western Sydney. They are also apparently seeking to offload their premiership CHF Ashley Hansen. Would we be interested?

Ashley is the son of that well known demon fan, and former ABC commentator Clark. Personally I think Ashley is too like our other key forwards in Watts and Jurrah, although vastly inferior to both, and even to Brad Miller. If we could get him for say a mid 30s draft pick would he be a useful backup.

I still think we need a Neitz-like power forward and there are not too many around unfortunately.

We just delisted Miller (thus, we could have kept him for a 50+ draft pick). If Hansen is worse tell me again why we would want him.

With all due respect, if you had of had that conversation with yourself before you decided to post it on Demonland you could have saved some bandwidth. And this pointless reply.

If I started a thread for every brain fart I had Demonland would be a laughing stock in 15 minutes. Moreso.

I lose patience with the lack of footy knowledge from some supporters....

I have seen Q Lynch, Hansen, Dowler, Thorpe etc been recommended....do some people even watch the footy.....???

At very least Q Lynch is a big strong bodied player who does make a contest - maybe not taking too much from the contest himself, but he does contest and breaks some packs. That alone IMVHO makes him >>>>> Newton.

Always encourage new threads/suggestions, but I do have to pass on Hansen. Hansen has always had the tag of "prospect" over at the eagles, I would now down grade him to "just another player" which we do not need at the MFC.

If the eagles have cap pressure, it does raise some serious question marks over their football department.

I have never seen anything from him, but a WC fan I know rates him. Reckons he was one of their most important players in 05-06 because when he was injured they really noticed it. Maybe there is something in that. But he seems to me to be an injury prone 'meh' player. No.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
