Possibly a good call.

Could only enhance his reputation, coming to us as we continue our climb up the ladder.

Only problem is that we need to wait until the cats coach is sorted and we'd rather have our backline coach sorted by the time we begin preseason... Which is in about 5 minutes.

Yeah, Sleepy Hollow are giving themselves up until the start of their pre-season to find a coach. Cook said mid November. Although, Bomba has annointed Sanderson as a successor at Geelong and believes he is ready for the senior gig.

Both Gary O'Donnell and Alan Richardson have left the Bombers.

Richardson has apparently already gone to Carlton.

Gary would be a good get and would be able to enhance his reputation with us as we climb the ladder and Bailey has connections at Essendon through having played there.

I've always been a Gary O'Donnell fan.

*Also please keep in mind, Brenton Sanderson. If Hinkley gets the gig down 'sleepy',,, he may want out.

just curious, what sort of salary range would an assistant coach be on?

Good question.

Laidley would probably expect to earn more than Bailey did in his first couple of years as coach.

Just a name from out of the blue which ill throw in for the defensive coach. But how about Nathan Bassett.Has taken Norwood from 7th last year to the grand final this year which they only lost by 1 goal. The list was also worse than the one they had last year as the club wasnt aloud to recruit or get any Crows or Power youngsters which they drafted. They lost older experienced players in Kris Massie & Luke Jericho yep made a big leap up the ladder. All the commentators here are saying Crows & power would be mad not to take him & think he will be AFL bound next year or year after. All opposition coaches of the finals side said Norwood played with a defensive set up & zone far superior to anything they had ever seen in the SANFL & said it was AFL standard.Norwood also conceded less goals this year than anyone else in SANFL keeping the years goals against to under 7 per game

There's a thread about Bassett here http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23088

Also on O'Donnell i think it was said on radio that he didn't want to continue in coaching

Todd Viney would be the pertect fit for the demons

That would be great.

If you're making this suggestion because it might help us get Jack Viney, I don't think it's a good call. Fathers shouldn't be coaching sons at this level.

That is a great point.

Well he's not getting a Senior Coach role, so he'll have to take whatever he can get if he wants to be an AFL coach.

What do you think of David King? Got burnt in association with Wallace but seems to talk a lot of sense on the radio.

Matthew Lloyd is another one I've been impressed with in the media - is actually prepared to do some research.

Both premiership players.

I think Laidley would be a great consideration too.

Chris Scott is said to be looking at a role with a club in Melbourne if he doesn't get the top job at Geelong (unlikely).

Very highly rated.

We should make a big play for him to replace Wellman.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin returned to the training track to bring you the following observations from Gosch's Paddock this morning. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
