Or if he rips the hammy off his bone in front of over a billion people. Personally, I'd prefer to keep our blue-chip draftees in front of the tv for GF day.

Agree. Why didn't they put someone like Strauss or Bennell in ?

Because he's faster. Second fastest non aboriginal at DC in 15 years.

Why do people worry about a player doing a hamstring in a footrace when said players repeatedly practice their sprinting over summer ? I hate it that some supporters spend their lives worrying about things that may, or may not happen. It reminds me of my elderly Mother.

Thanks for sending me up H. Your mother must have been something else to think along the same lines as me. B)

Is the race really that significant though H, that we submit JW ? What does the club get out of it btw ?

Good luck to him anyway, I hope he beats Jetta by a short half-head.

What are his odds?

I would give 25/1-however he is quick over 5/10 metres.Sorry changed to 6 to 1 after Hannabal's post. And furthermore after serious thinking, the FD would not allow him to run if he didn't have a fair chance.Odds shortening the more I think about it.

He was the fastest in one sprint, never seen him do that in a game.

Hahaha - if they continue with the handicap trend, he should get a solid head start one would think!!!

I don't give him much chance at all... but then again I don't really care. It's a bit of fun, sure... but all I care about is that he has one of the best pre-seasons, puts on 10kg's, is uninjured and is fit and firing for 2011.

Watch the Sydney game again. Watts did a chase down the wing on Lewis Jetta, very similar to the Frawley one IIRC.

2.82 at DC, but prior to that has a 2.79 against his name at a state screening, so it's not just "one" race.

Game day fast and sprinting are two different things. He'll learn the former.

Thats potentially a billion..lol

Get your AFL spin correct :)

he's only 19...body should be able to do this stuff without any worries...he's quick runner according to his stats.

if he wins it doesn't mean much and if he loses then he's used to embarrasing himself...

good luck jack...enjoy the day.

Alright then. Potentially 'over' a billion. :)

That too. He has missed the trip to Bali.

Every success adds a bit of confidence. The FD believes in him. Many supporters are beginning to believe. He just needs to grow in his own self belief. Every goal counts, every pass counts, every mark counts, every smart play counts. A good sprint in front of the billion????? counts. Every win in front of your opponent counts. I am going for the win.

Good point. Chance to perform on GF day; even if it is a sprint.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
