Michael Rischitelli is going to leave Brisbane at the end of the year and it has been said that he wants to go to a Melbourne based club and that he would like to go to Melbourne as it is going to be a good club in a few years and he thinks he will be in his prime.

What do people think?

I think we should go for him but we also need to get a key forward?

What do please think.

What a steal! He's going to win their best and fairest. Not sure what price he'd come at. Sure he was keen on Melbourne then the two clubs could reach a suitable trade.

How do you know he said Melbourne is the club he wants to go to- First time a player has said that for a while i reckon? Always wanting to go to Collingwood or Carlton. Great if we can have a culture where players want to play for us

Wasn't he part of the proposed Fevola deal but gazumped it because he didn't want to move to Melbourne?

Also, bit early for the silly season isn't it?

very good player, only things is we have stacked up in the midfield. how versatile is he ?

Would make our chances of a gun midfield a lot surer adding him in.

Yeah. I'd be happy if we got him. He's a very good player. Been impressed with him from his first game.

If he is out of contract then similar to the Luke Ball scenario last year we don't actually have to give anything up if he did want to come to Melbourne. He could stick a high price on his head and then hope he slips to Melbourne in the national or pre-season drafts or the other way to guarantee him is to do it via a trade of nominal value to Brisbane, thus avoiding the draft and another club stealing him.

Would be a great get, is he good mates with Joel Mac?? This may help our situation if he is. Maybe Joel has whispered in his ear that this club is warming up. B)

Discussion on Bigfooty about him. It's claimed he favours going to Essadon having followed them as a kid.

Agree- far too early for trade talk- let's us go to China and then bring back Rischitelli if our F/D want him.I do not think je fits the bill

I find myself reading this with a degree of skepticism. Firstly, he refused to be part of the Fev deal because he didn't want to come south. Secondly, I doubt if we have enough room in the salary cap to pay what he'll want. Thirdly, even if we did have the money, we would have to find a trade to get him because there are other clubs with deeper pockets who could get him in the PSD before us (GC anybody?).

"If Rischitelli isn't to pull on a Suns jumper next year, it may be the red and black of Essendon that he wears"

Yes it seems our OP was having a little dream, with Rischitelli coming to melbourne by choice....but who knows.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
