Anybody who thinks Miller comes in for Watts........ have a look at Watt's last quarter. The kick across the ground to end up in a Brad Green goal, and the kick to Dunn who was left unmarked in the goal square after a great faked kick.

There is no way Miller makes either play. The kid has vision. and our vision is the future.

NO CHANGE

(Scully out, ummmmmm no.)

Saw those passages and loved them, as well as 2 others down the Punt Rd end where Watts singled out the Walpirri Warrior and slotted the ball beautifully down his throat. Those were grace and poetry in motion - and a little bit of why I just love this country and its culture of equality (sniff). Watts is coming up nicely - I even saw him sprint hard after the ball in a 1 on 2 contest/chase late in the game (!!). Jurrah owes some of his return to form in this match to the accuracy of Watts' boot, the quality of his vision, and at least in those instances, the intelligence of his decision making.

i think its funny that every thing Jack Watts does that is good gets talked about. The Kick to Dunn in the goal square showed good vision, but i dont think it would have been talked about if anyone else had done it!

You're wrong to an extent.

Any promising young player on our list would receive the same praise.

It is especially relevant though, because he is in the large group of players on our list that are still largely an unknown.

I'd hope he has that sort of vision, but to see him display it in a game is the evidence that he does.

The same fuss would be made if it were Scully or Trengove or Gysberts or Tapscott or Bennell or...

Not the same if it were Green or Bruce, for example, because they are known quantities.

J Hird? I liked Jack's game yesterday and he showed plenty of nous.

Funny you say James Hird, Because watching him i thought he so reminds me of Hirdy the way plays.Still has a long way to go to be like Hird, but similar type of player.

out: Bail

in: Miller

Based on ?

Dunn is FF Watts CHF ...wheres Miller going ? Bail's job is vastly different from anything Frosty can do.

Or do you anticpate a rejuggling ? Dont see a great need to.

Why elevate Miller ..what is he going to bring to the game ?

This is another week without Moloney getting in a game, it is getting like Junior, if he is fit this week, he will come back through Casey, can't see them risking somebody who has lost the edge, (listen to Junior on the Club website "I am getting my match fitness back")..against the Hawks, we do want to win this one, I would be very surprised if there are any changes, as for Miller he has not been offered a contract for next season, so obviously not in the plans, so why bring him in?

Oh

Forgive my incompotence

Wasn't sure if you were serious or not.

It's common knowledge I thought.

Either way, if you knew what he meant, the original post gave me a chuckle.

OUT - PJ (match ups)

IN - Warnock

Is Moloney re-injured or will he be available?

Moloney will be available.

Not sure if i missed something but did Cale Morton play for Casey on the weekend or was he injured?

As far as I know Cale was an emergency but had to attend the game as Moloney went out, Jones came in. If we had an injury during warm up then Morton would have come in.

Unhappy players go else where and Bailey has shown he doen't cope well with unhappy players. (EG C Johnson, S Buckley) He prefers to get rid of them. Morton is not the only young player unhappy with their treatment by the coaching staff. ( inside information)

30 into 22 won't go ... and so 8 are unhappy. I'd be worried if we had a group of players who were as happy as Larry when they didn't get a game !

Thank goodness Harrison doesn't rule !

(Sorry - just had to add to the chorus of those who have criticized this mischievous post)

Just thought I'd look back at the Round 1 team & compare it to last weekend's team & was surprised at the number of changes:

Midfield: Sylvia (now) instead of Moloney (then);

Defence: Bail, Garland & Bartram instead of Grimes, Warnock & Strauss;

Forwards: Jurrah, Watts, Wonna & PJ instead of Petterd, Miller, Bate & Spencer.

Some very good players from Round 1 that we're missing, but overall I think we're in better shape to take on the Hawks this week than we were then.

Thats true but the nature of injury is different, Junior had a torn Hammy & Beamer badly bruised thigh, not torn, so i think there is less worry of reinjury with Beamer. However, having said that, it will be interesting to see which way the footy dept wants to go.

I can see Beamer coming in against a physical & desperate Hawks & so, probably the most likely to go back sounds like Bail. He's be handy for Casey as well. Or McKenzie.

Better balance to this team from the Rnd 1 version IMO. Grimes would be more than handy though ;)

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
