I'll start the ball rolling today with this post.

I'm hoping that Beamer plays and shows no Ill effects from last week's corkie.

I'm hoping we can get off to a decent start and

I'm hoping we get the four points.

That's all!

It will be interesting to see how this game plays out as these 2 teams have the most opposing gameplans in the comp with Sydney shutting down the game and trying to get as many stoppages around the ground and the Dees ranked no. 1 in playing on after taking a mark.

Who runs with Goodes? Dunn & Bruce teaming him?

Sydney will try and take advantage of our slow starts and hit the scoreboard early even though they aren't a fast starting side.

Bails should tell the team we're playing the 3rd quarter first this week!!!

Moloney out, Wonna in.

Oh dear. Has that won the game for Sydney??

...Wonna, Jurrah, Bennell and Davey....here come the party tricks.

HOPEFULLY!!! Wona hasn't been overly fantastic in his few games for us this year...

It's an interesting late change - a midefielder out, replaced by a small forward. I guess Maric can run in the middle.

no moloney, mcdonald, trengove will hurt us. mckenzie needs to really step up. i guess it means jones and sylvia will play sleightlydifferent roles this week than they have been this year

... or Grimes.

Great chance for Wonna, Maric etc., but not ideal. This was a winnable game, now ... not so sure!

I take it all back. Watts may or may not cure cancer, play in multiple premierships for the Ds and win a Nobel prize. But he is in the contest, tries his guts out and has extaordinary talent.

Q2

Green 1st goal

Dees 7 odd gls up

8 goal lead at half time.

Great to see the Dees playing with confidence. Our skill level suddenly improves and we hit targets.

The speed of our forward is awesome. When Sydney defenders have the ball our forwards materialise beside them. Good signs for the future.

Sylvia dominating in the midfield.

Jamar - goalsquare - mark - goal. 20 secs to halftime.

Dees 48 pts up

Special mention to:

Slyvia- leading possies

Green- him or sly bog so far..

Bruce- amazing how good he is with actual support

Davey

Frawls

Morton on goodes- goodes 1st qtr win, morts 2nd qtr win, 13 possies each, morts with a couple extra marks and tackles-but goodes has a goal.

and Bartram..

What a story Clint bartram. A really good year and rapidly approaching a level we all hoped he could get to.

I think the whole family thing he went thru a couple of years ago wouldve knocked him around a bit more than people realise.

He was such a hardass when he 1st started- an instant fav amongst many and another potential 'matty whelen'- and he's back at that level again this season..

Hope he keeps it up.

Another good game from him so far today.

Kickin back to enjoy the 2nd half - which i guessed earlier, may be a little quieter for us after the WA trip - but think we have a good enough lead

Enjoy people.

GO DEES demon_cool.gif

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
