Sylvia - Not a ruckman

Wonaeamirri - Run some laps

Jones - Calm down please

Jones is prone to brainfarts, we know that, but he shut down Danyle (rubbish spelling of a name) Pearce, which was enormous in the context of the game. Props to him for a great job.

Garland is going to have some ups and downs, and will no doubt tire as the year goes on, given he didn't do a pre-season. Also, being punched in the stomach twice wouldn't have helped. FFS why was a free kick not awarded when he was punched right in front of the umpire?

Of course re Jones, but even his brainfarts are a part of him doing what the coaches want - play on at all costs.

Was McClown the officiating umpire at the time? And that was the second one! Cornes elbow to JW's throat in the first quarter - no report! Yet Moloney was the only report.

Wearing red and blue probably didn't help his case  !!!

The customary safe hands and clean spoils which are the strengths of his game just are not there.

*shakes head*

Rivers by far tonight gave his team the most 1%'s = 11. By far. He didn't give away any free kicks. He contested well in packs. He may have spilled a mark from memory, but he wasn't the only one during the night in Darwin. Hardly "useless".

Some may say he looked slow chasing Hitchcock, but who wouldn't ? FFS.

Rivers: One percenter King.

Morton - hesitant, uncomposed, slow

Rivers - Being good at one percenters in only part of being a good player.

Watts - Better than Natinui

Trengove - good in clinches

Whole team - Too loose

Jamar - taps to opposition as much as our boys

What a joke. Yes made some errors which is understandable when you have not played at this level for 2 months but look at the two perfect passes inside our forward 50m he made. He has been sorely missed. He may be laconic but he is not slow.

Spot on! Weren't those passes superb?!!

Cale will be better for the run. And, Melb will be better with him back in the team...

This, the Rivers hate is crazy, he plays his role and is a team leader.

Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
