What moron at AFL House let the umpires wear pink tonight? Completely disregarding the other contentious decisions made by the umpires tonight, their uniform caused numerous turnovers, including at least 3 in the last. May have cost us the game

What happened to umpires wearing neutral colours. I'm sure if it was a normal dogs v dees game, the umps wouldn't be in red. An atrocious call by somebody to put them in pink.

Absolutely agree. I know the cause is good but FMD they looked too similar to MFC.

I am sure at one stage there was quick handball out of the centre by MFC in the direction of an umpire and there was no MFC player in cooee.

They should have given them a pink whistle to use then swallow.

I thought they were in red. Agree though,a disgraceful decision. Several time Melbourne players appeared to pass the ball towards an umpire.

Agree. Those pink umpires cost us at least two goals in the last. Someone should be shot.

+1.

It was Bartram who handballed it to the ump. And Brad Green has now kicked the non-goal of the year.

As someone who plans things for a living, I am utterly shocked that people can be this [censored] at their job and still get paid.

Why not dress the umpires in Melbourne jumpers next week... maybe it'll help them pay a decision in our favour for once!

According to a caller to radio, we complained to the AFL during the week about the umpires' uniform only to be told it was bad luck and had already been decided. Hardly surprising when you have muppets running the joint.

The umpires are NOT meant to be highlighted in a game in anyway - good causes or not.

Why the F&*K didn't they wear fluro green? Pack of Carmichaels!

Agree! Absulute joke, no one cares about the umps. The dees actually changing colors for a game, not enough?????

If that is true it is an utter disgrace- however we should write to the AFL to lode the complaint because that was damning. They also had red, blue and white(Bulldogs colours in their veins-a downright disgrace.

So many things about tonights game absolutely shited me, and this- a 'wardrobe clash' which could and should have been avoided- could have cost us at least one goal- definately a forward thrust- and the two goal umpires getting overruled so easily especially when the first one said "im sure it was good" is just deflating. I am flat now, such a thin line- all we needed was to not get screwed over by the umps and I would have had a bloody marvelous night! Now I sit here contemplating how to get umpires personal information.. :(

The club should issue a please explain to the AFL.

What an absolute joke.

Out on the wing Brad green hit the ball over his head towards an umpire and the handball from junior I think it was into the corridor and was swooped upon by 4 doggies.

[censored] disgrace!

I know that it will be an exercise in futility, but does anyone know of an e-mail address to send my opinion of tonight's debacle to? Surely there has to be a way to get feedback to the AFL regarding the absurd display they put on tonight.

My thoughts exactly. Whoever decided they should wear pink should be sent to Siberia.

was listening to one of the radio stations on the way home and a caller confirmed that the club had complained to the AFL during the week re the clash between the ummpires and MFC. They were told more or less bad luck. It wouldn't have happened to Collingwood. Eddy wouldn't have allowed it. One day we too will have the same influence.

MFC ask for the ump to be to different colors tonight and where overruled

Of course.. Why would the AFL go back on a decision they have previously made or change something because of an outside request? That would make them seem weak.. The AFL has all the power; and they are too keen to make that known all the time. Stubbornly backing their decisions to no end with no regard for common sense. And who pays for it? The ones who don't make a noise about it and just cops it! Would this have happened to a more influencial (Collingwood) club? I think not!

Why? They stopped listening to supporters 30+ years ago.

just like the umpire running across the field to overrule the goal umpire who was less than a meter away. JOKE... Great game by the young guns today.

I think we should rally up every Melbourne supporter on this website and spam their emails with stuff about the umpires.

This [censored] can't keep happening

They might say something like "in hindsight maybe a different choice of colours may have been better, but we think it made no impact on the game at all..." or some crap like that!

Ahhhh.. the ol' "please explain"... This one will go down as getting royaly SCREWED over and no "please explain" can do [censored]! I hate the "system" Could you imagine if this happened in a final?

We obviously need a clash jumper for the Umpires. An appalling oversight by us. I look forward to the Umpires in the Hawks v Swans 'Kokoda' Game wearing brown and gold fatigues.

An absurd and incompetent decision by the AFL.

THe most senior of the people at the AFL involved in the decision must issue an apology.

Give em hell Dees fans.

Umpires dressed in pink which was red, I have never left a game so angry as I did tonight. So many UNBELIEVEABLE decisions made by those 3 fools.

On a happier note, another good effort by the boys.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
