He had a good game no doubt. I know he was second(?) in possessions but I don't remember him doing anything particularly remarkable with the footy in his hands. In retrospect he deserves a nod but I stand by my votes.

It's hard to notice what real in-and-under type players are doing sometimes, as many of their little quick handpasses and clearances happen in heavy traffic and are difficult to spot from the stands. They don't stand out the way ball-carriers do, but that doesn't make their games any less valuable or 'remarkable' as you put it. Beamer is one bloke i always make particular notice of at matches, namely his clearance and bullocking work in tight. He's a workhorse who never stops trucking along, and against the younger, weaker Richmond kids, he was just too strong and really IMO, nothing short of exceptional.

And statistically speaking - 37 disposals (13 contested), 9 tackles, 9 clearances, 9 inside 50's, 2 goal assists - that is one helluva game.

Did you not notice his sublime kicking all day? Even his (occasional) poor kicks were generally long and into dangerous positions. He was bloody brilliant, and only headed by McDonald's amazing first quarter.

Fair enough. Those stats do speak pretty loudly.
