Who the hell did he even play on today?

Don't know why but I LOL'D at that comment.

So excited we have a potential super star anchored in our defence...and he just signed a 4 year contract!!! Thanks CAC for one of your parting gifts!!

Why not this year? I could easily slot him into a back pocket

Have to agree, put him in this year.

I'm amazed he has gone from 73kg to 96kg in a couple of years and can still sprint with the fastest in the game as well as run all day long. What a specimen. Not only that he seems to keep developing his game. In Grimes' absence he has stepped up to become an excellent attacking defender.

We are so lucky to have Frawls. Make no mistake, he is the glue in our defence.

He's the type of defender you can build a defence around, ala Lake.

I'm thinking he'll be the true A-grader we're hoping for

I was tempted to jump the fence and give him a big kiss after he kicked that goal.

What a champion. Just unbelievable. Who the hell did he even play on today? B)

AA next year. Lock it in.

I think he played on Jesse White and Mike Pyke at different times.

I have massively underrated Joel MacDonald.

At times today he was sublime.

Future All Australian, will give key forwards headaches for years to come.

Totally agree with demon-jack. Should be seriously in consideration for AA this year. He truely has took his game to the next level. He has not been discraced once this season and he's becoming the next Matthew Scarlett. Not onli is his defensive work immense but his run with attitude, confidence in taking on players and beating them and even his disposal has become fantastic. if he isnt AA this year, i'd already pencil him in for 2011 AA. Even greater to see him belt out the Grand Old flag today, he's red and blue, through and through!!

Because he can play on talls and smalls, I think that he will be picked on a HBF for the All Austraian side this year.

I just beat my 5k best by 1:25 and I did it by picturing his awesome chase-down of Lewis Jetta in the 2nd. What an inspirational player he must be to play and train with.

Many years ago, I volunteered to start a breeding program at Melbourne. Sadly, I picked some pretty horrible players to try and boost Melbourne's father-son selections (highlights include Bell and McLean), but I'm pretty confident I can get the program up and running again with one James Frawley. We need lots of Nuggets (Spud... Chip... Nuggets?) running around for the next 30 years.

I abused and slagged "Frawlz" 2-3 seasons ago. And now I rate him alongside Jamar as our most important player (look what happened against Carlton when Frawley was a late withdrawal!).

Love ya, Chip! All Australian form for sure. :)

I thought chip was just jogging back to the backline after kicking his goal from 70m out....then i realised he was chasing jetta.....pwoah!

Legend.

His chase of Lewis Jetta ought to earn accolades, like Cale Hooker chasing Buddy.

Going to towel up Brown again this week.

Chip caught up with Jetta while Buddy steamed away.

Chip in full flight was pretty awesome. Brown wont run him around but it will be more body on body.

True, but I meant that people gave Hooker credit for simply not giving up and running as hard as he could, even though it was in vain. Yes, Frawley caught him, but it was a similar effort.

He can chase and catch Lewis Jetta, and he can go body-on-body with Jonathan Brown. That versatility makes him invaluable. All-Australian? If they've been paying attention, he'll easily make the initial 40-man squad and from there it's a crap-shoot. Hope he gets it though ...

Can't believe I forgot to bump this.

Need to just sticky this thread and be done with it!

Haha good call.

One of our most improved players along with Jamar.

- Kept J. Riewoldt to 1 goal.

- Kept Hall to 0 GOALS!

- Kept Pavlich to 1 goal.

- Kept Roughead to 2 goals.

All-AUSTRALIAN... surely!!!

We now take for granted his massive frame and legendary strength and rundowns , but many forget how he has also turned his kicking from shizen to super !

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
