Who will be this year's biggest slider, myself I reckon that Rohan will be and I think he will fall out of the top ten.

Then he will be in red and blue.

Possibly Kane Lucas, rated him a top 5 pic at first if he slides to the dees at 11 i hope we go best available and take him.

Depends.

Some who think Butcher is a top 3 player would say he slid to get to pick 7 or 8.

I've said for a while now he may be around at our pick 11 or even 18.

Lucas definitely as I think he could justifiably be picked at 3 or 4, but he won't be.

If we get him I will be ecstatic.

Bartlett I think will be a retrospective steal in a few years' time no matter who picks him.

Panos for mine, relative to some people thinking we should take him with pick 11 or 18.

Rubbish - he will go around pick 40 and deservedly so.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the new position players slide a bit. I can see a player like Black or Carlisle dropping into the mid 2nd round.

Yep, I was thinking Jake Carlisle when I read the thread title.

Now that his back (Disc!) problems have surfaced. Worst possible injury for a footballer imo.

As i mused in his thread -Good luck an all, but I wouldnt take him at pick 100 now-

EDIT- RF, I dont think Rohan would go past pick 11 somehow ;)

Gawn. Pretty sure he's the biggest guy in the draft :P

But seriously, I think Fitzpatrick might be the bargain basement pick this time. His CFS has seen him drop out of favour with a lot of people but if he can keep himself healthy he'll be a hell of a player. I'm wondering how much of his perceived lack of effort and workrate has stemmed from his illness and whether our medical team will be able to counter it effectively.

Also i recall earlier in the year when watching Future stars they touted Allen Christensen as a possible top 10 pic aswell as Fitzpatrick.

Is that to keep up the Ranga tradition?

Lucas is one who's slipped from a few months ago, it seemed he was certain to go to West Coast but now they seem keen on Jetta.

I think Lucas is one of the few top prospects i haven't seen footage of. Does he go alright?

He goes more than alright.

He goes very very well.

And to think we could of rookie listed him just last year

I've held this view for a long time ... Essendon could pick out pockets at 10 ...

Tapscott

I've actually come to the conclusion he won't pan out as an AFL footballer...

Not sure if he'll slide though.

Agreed tapscott will slide. Alot of people are saying we will select him but we already have a better version in maric. I think one of Lucas, Stevens, butcher and Rohan will slide outside top 10 and there we will be waiting!!!! How brilliant!!

Fitzpatrick will be the biggest slider. If Vardy is due around 15-25, the rest of the talls will start to trickle form there. Fitzpatrick is still on a limited training schedule due to his thumb and chronic fatigue. He could slip to the late 30s-40s. Super talent, but comes with a risk.

Slider? A very strange concept.

I think you mean which player has been over-rated and over-hyped by ill-informed amateur punters.

No, I meant those players that were evaluated by the paid professionals in the media and were considered at one stage or another to be a fairly high draft pick and have now fallen down the ladder or off the radar completely.

This was purely to see which player the posters here think will fall down the most, say from being a potential top 5 pick to somewhere in the mid to late teens.

Whilst I don't understand why Fitzpatrick was rated highly in media reports and on here (ie. top 5)....based on that alone he will be seen as the biggest slider. Fwiw, I never really agreed with his early ratings. The more updates the likes of Burgan & Quale do, the further he seems to slide. Agree on Christensen as well.

And to think we could of rookie listed him just last year

CC admitted a few weeks back that they stuffed up there; on Jetta.

edit: happened to skim past old55's post. Agree old.

I laugh hard and long reading these Garland threads. Flash back to Round 1 & 2 2008, the vitriol and pure ignorance that was posted here was a disgrace. Now after a long layoff and a promising 2008, he is the missing link. Displays the worst of forums such as this and the fickleness of supporters.

It's amazing isn't it. And while PLENTY of people come out here to say they supported him from the start, few have come on and admitted they were wrong.

For mine, I will be happy with any contribution to the senior team we get out of the following players after a disastrous 2009: Garland, Wonaeamirri, Blease & Strauss

Wonna and Strauss, I think, have no major reason not to attack next year at 100% strength.

Garland I have short-mid term concerns for...

Blease. I'm worried. And I was BEFORE he was hurt.
