Because it's been suggested that Luke Ball would prefer to play at a team like Collingwood with good premiership prospects rather than at the wooden spooner.

In opposition to that it's been pointed out that Collingwood's premiership prospects in the short term are not all that good in view of the fact that the AFL has handed them a tougher fixture than usual for 2010.

A Collingwood supporter has responded by saying that his team's fixture in 2009 which included a return game against only one of the previous year's top four teams was monsterously tough and that they were courageous going into the finals this year with an injury riddled team (i.e. one or two players out of 46 missing).

I think that just about sums it all up.

It's been suggested that Luke Ball doesn't want to go through another slow rebuild but what slow rebuild has Luke Ball been through?

He was drafted in 2001, spent his first AFL season at school in 2002 and Stkilda was playing well end of 03 > they were genuine contenders premiers '04.

He came in halfway into Stkilda's rebuild and they were a force within 2 years of his arrival.

He will be coming halfway into Melbourne's rebuild. Step up or get the fark out.

I don't how much Cameron Schwab would want to give up it's home game against Collingwood at the G each year, the same logic applies to Brian Cook & Geelong. Given our record at Kardinia & the fact that Collingwood has the most wins of a Victorian club travelling since 06', it is not such a great example on your part.

There are a couple of opposition supporters like Ash34 (Essendon) who provides excellent insights into MFC from another perspective. I value his contributions more than some of the MFC supporters here. Unfortunately Old Xaverian is not in that quality.

The best way to handle OX is to debate the issue with him. His hollow arguments has been brought undone so often by astute posters I am surprised more of you have not realised that instead of flaming who he supports.

He didn't say there is no chance of ball coming to melbourne, infact he said they are still very keen. If ball told the club he didn't want to play with them but would nominate for the PD Bailey said they would not be interested in drafting him.

He said they are yet to meet with ball and his manager but they are confident if given the opportunity Ball will like what he sees.

All in all nothing new was really stated and Bailey just confirmed their interest in Ball is still alive.

Also said Blease has started light running and strauss has begun his weights program on his injured shoulder. Good signs
