Well.. not quite sure what German expected. MFC having barely enough fit players to select themselves towards the end of the year..

Very much a sooki-la-la event IMO. Didn't he have any faith in his players? Didn't he want to develop THEM and not US?

Priorities this year for MFC were one in a million. Did he have any understanding of that?

Agreed it's a loss. Nonetheless if German cracked the sads this big, over priorities that were annouced prior to the season commencing, it's more his loss.

He has probably been offered an assistant job at an AFL club, maybe North.

Surely we're going to get our own man in there. But who? Back to Mark Williams? Kelly O'D?

Peter German's background is incredable .Totally suits want we want and need right now Worked with Connolly and O' Donnell at Freemantle, therefore knows their requirements. I say, increase his contract and make him stay.

Too late he has been appointed coach of Williamstown with the promise of more involvement in the Bulldogs. Plus it is closer to where he lives in the Northern Suburbs.

He had a two year contract with Casey but it wasn't signed so he has been able to walk out on it. He was not happy with some of the off field directions of Casey.

They really do need to get their [censored] together out there he was the 4th coach in 4 years now it will be 5 in 5.

Gee ,I sincerely HOPE you are incorrect with above info- I had heard he had not signed- re loophole to get out.But with background at Fremantle with Connolly/O'Donnell I was hoping this would be averted.Gee I hope this football department turns things around- we haven't signed West to a full time contract yet, most likey will loose Davey, lost McLean, Robbo is giving the club a huge bake. We need some positive news.I tried to get them to retain German- because I think he is the right man for the job. Who next???

I'm sick of having to suck up to everyone who wants to leave. I've gone cold on my 2010 membership slogan of ONCE YOU GO BLACK YOU NEVER GO BACK and am now promoting - 2010: FIT IN OR F**K OFF.

Pretty well agree with all of that. Sounds like he didnt want to play 'our' game so has taken his bat and gone elsewhere.

So when the going got tough the Coach wusses it !! Oh well..

So be it..bye Pete..dont let the door smack you on the way out..

Next !!!!!!!!! ;)

your lazy- all you had to do Demonology to read in full.Sorry next time I will put all info in for members like you

Sorry I'm lazy ...but I don't always read 'ology -and I've gone back several weeks without finding the story. Can someone please send us the link?

Our partnership with Casey is critical - and any ructions between the two clubs are disturbing.

If Peter German never signed his contract - then he was never fully committed and we are better off without him - even if he is very capable.

Sorry , could not retrieve the thread- however, the basis was that Brad Gotch was not going to renew his contract and it was likely German would take the role- it was also highlighted and was critical that the MFC had been slack in not assuring German had signed a watertight contract- actually it claimed the contract was not signed.

Hope that enlightens you further.

If that is true then it is an utter joke. That really is Contracts 101. No doubt the Casey lads around here will find a way to blame this on the MFC anyway.

Sounds like a disgrace ... unless the parties were miles apart - in which case we're better to go our separate ways.

We need to sign up a replacement asap - and shore up our relationship with Casey

It is not the MFC to tell another club who they have as coach all they do is work with them, if he leaves, Casey will appoint another Coach and life goes on.

I'm not sure why you would leap to the conclusion that Casey people would blame MFC for the contract not being signed (if that's the case). I think that would clearly be a Casey responsibility.

Personally i take all of this as a positive.. We as a team a club and a partenership are finding our way and building/rebuilding with people and players who are committed to the shared goal, success and continued success. No point having anyone on board who isnt 110% for it. Heres a chance to get someone who is. Obviously he ( german ) wasnt.

No loss for me...and I this Casey and the MFC should view this as another great opportunity to induct talent and ability via new blood.

Go Dees

Go Scorps

I think questions need to and will be asked regarding the situation with Germam and now Lees. If MFC are to bed down a geniune relationship with Casey like Sandringham they need to ensure a very stable and great coaching paddock for our young footballers. We will have a very strong list to develop and a lot of these will be MFC LISTED.

To have unsigned contracts(if that is true) is just as big a joke as having our tax cheque in a drawer(RayEllis affair).

We need a very good coach and avery good football manager at Casey to ensure our development. We had this in German & Lees- it will indeed be very interesting the replacements.

await the news-hopfully positive & soon.

I believe this is as important as our draft selections-Do you?????

I think Casey Scorp is on teh money... in essence it was Casey's call..and responsibility. We need to be mindful they are they and not strictly us !! Am sure now much of the dust has settled on our partnership framework that the MFC will look to be more 'mentoring' in helping Scorps with staffing

Geez ..German is really just one cog in a much bigger machine..there are other cogs...quite probably better ones. One that might have more inclination to want to stick around ;)

Get the impression German is not the most loyal person around! All new relationships have to be worked upon and have hiccups. He seemed to be getting The Scorps going but we don't want any dummy spitters around our club or associated organisations. Whats wrong with total committment from BOTH parties?

'The Scorpions will begin their search for a replacement coach in what will be there third coach in four years.'.. good lord

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
