Surgery on a pretty serious facial injury.

Terribe news for Greeny. He got us back into the game in the first quarter when we were all over the place.

Hope all goes well for him. We need him back!

He'll be out for a long time and I wish him a speedy recovery, very sad news to here.

His jaw will ache in the cold for the rest of his life. I appreciate the way he puts his body on the line week in week out and it's a shame to see this happened.

Too tough for his own good young Bradley.

Will be interesting to see how we'll go without him over the next couple of weeks.

Who will come in?

You would imagine McDonald however I suppose Maric plays a similar position

This is really, really bad news. He's our best player and a key person in our leadership group. Hope the surgery goes well and that he make an excellent (and quick) recovery.

if any moron ever says that brad green is not tough they should be shot.

compare him with riewoldt (if it wasn't him i apologise but it was one of their young key forwards) on the members wing in the 3rd quarter. massive shirk. rivers gave it to him big time

brad has transformed himself from the double fist pumping skinny 18 y.o. that won us a QF into a tough courageous leader of our club. never should his committment be questioned.

It was Daniel Connors who shirked for the Tiges, but point well made

Agreed 100%

Greeny is not only brave, he is almost too brave at times.

Hope he makes a speedy and full recovery!

And this guy couldn't be named Vice Captain, at worst?

He is as tough as they come.

A big loss for the Demons.

Cheekbone and jaw was reported on 3AW after the game. 6-8 weeks. Very sad as he has been the heart and soul of this side for a long time now. With valenti BOG yesterday he would have to be a chance for next week.

Cheekbone....depressed fracture most likely. The surgeon will try to pop it back into place and then work on it. Best outcome.

Time out...not sure, I'm guessing, but I'd reckon 8-10 weeks by the time he regains fitness.

And to think some jerk sitting behind me was calling him soft for not getting up after that hit

Green's injury was he result of a poor kick, can't remember who it was. Green had to dive for it and that's what caused the contact. Same with Robbo last year, that time Green was the kicker, he put it on Robbo's head and guaranteed that Robbo copped contact from behind and consequently did his injury.

Goes to show that poor skills hurt in more ways than one. Hopefully a quick recovery for our only elite player.

One of the more ridiculous things I have read on DL

You blame Green's kick last year for Robbo's injury?!?!?!?! Injuries happen.... They can happen out of courage (as Green's did today), out of bad luck (Wonna) and out of stupidity ala Brad Symes Stupid Boy

Injuries are part of competitive sport..... Let's not go around and blame them on someones disposal....

Celebrate a couragous player and a couragous win....

Go Dees!!

6-8 Weeks. That's disappointing.

After that time he'll be back and playing at his usual best.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
