Can some please let me know where the melbourne supporters sit for games against Nth Melbourne and Collingwood

i dont want to get tickets sitting next to the filth and i am over from perth and never been to a melbourne game at the G

You'll find that a lot of Melbourne supporters are MCC members, and as such sit in the MCC reserve.

Since that includes me, I can't really say where the best place is to sit. Just that when we play Collingwood, there will probably be a 3 to 1 ratio of filth to MFC supporters.

there is a 'red and blue army' section somewhere i believe. it came out of the club forums that were held, that we need a section dedicated to mfc supporters so that we are loud and together. i am not sure exactly, can i suggest calling the club or checking the website?

cheer squad areas are normally alright if you can put up with them. or if you know anyone in melbourne who is a premium member you can pay about $15 and sit on level two of the southern stands behind the goals, which is where i sit. fantastic seats and all melbourne.

Against Collingwood DO NOT SIT AT THE CITY END GOALS. They will be there in droves

First of all, congratulations on seeing the mighty demons at the home of football for the first time. Your life will never be the same again! It's one of life's greatest pleasures to see the red and blue run out onto the MCG.

Secondly, outside the members, particularly as it's not a Melbourne home game, there won't really be any areas that are majority demons in general admin. A few people have given you options regarding the second level of the southern and stuff but you need to know someone with those memberships, which I assume you don't. The only area I can think of in general admin is right behind the Melbourne cheersquad which I reckon will be at the city end. Otherwise, perhaps where the old Olympic stand used to be might be a little less 'filthy' than other parts of the ground.

Thirdly, I reckon consider sitting right in amongst the filth. You've never been to the G before, and sitting in amongst them is quite an experience. They're absolute flogs who won't say a word all day till they know they're going to win, then they'll get into you and hold you personally responsible for your team's loss. And, to be honest, we are probably going to lose but at least that will be character building. And I tell you what, if we do win, it will be the greatest day of your life watching all the filth turn on their players and each other and trudge out of the ground half way through the last!

I went to Melbourne's last game at Victoria Park in 91 as a 6 year old. My Dad flat out refused to take me cos they were top and we were 10th and Vic Park is a dump, but my uncle would. So we went, I couldn't see half the ground cos it was all standing room. Anyway, Jacko kicked 7 or 8 and gave the filth the finger after every goal and in the last ten seconds Chopper Lovell kicked the sealer from fifty. Waving my demons flag as the filth streamed out either side of me is one of my finest football memories!!!

I can't wait for Sunday! GIVE EM HELL DEES!

We (myself and partner) sit on top level of the Ponsford Stand, even though we are members,you don't get the sun in your eyes, not sure what forecast is....but if it is the opposite it is also quite protected from the rain and wind. The view is quite good if you sit below the big screen, the angle you look at the field seems to give a good perspective and you are also looking directly at the big screen at the other end Usually get a few opposition supporters up there as well, we make sure we wave the flag and the scarf when we score a goal............Sat amongst the Coolingweird supporters last QB game, I wuoldn't recommend it.........never seen so much facial hair, tattoos and lack of front teeth...the language was quite awful.........the male Coolingweird supporters on the other hand.........

it's a Collingwood home game next week.. our cheer squad will be at the ponsford end... so sit that end. I'm a redlegs legs so we won't be in our home spot on level 2 against Collingwood next week

I think the Ponsford Stand is home to the Colling@#%d Social Club during their home games, so I'll sit anywhere else.

That's a bit rude. Do you think we have leprosy or something? I hope you are commenting on the physical accomodations at the ground rather than the company.

We don't bite (well, most of us anyway) and at least if you sit near us you are sitting near Melbourne supporters, not the opposition. I would suggest contacting the club to find out where the cheer squad will be located for the Collingwood game (there was chatter on another thread that we would be 'switching' goals) and buying close to the cheer squad. I know I feel more comfortable in a crowd of Melbourne supporters rather than being surrounded by the ferals.

The filth usually sully the Ponsford end for their home games.

Sit near the 50 on the southern stand side, you get some filth supporters for the fun and their is usually a decent amount of Dee's supporters there too.

Sit on the top tier of the Ponsford for s#### and giggles. Just make sure you have a few friends and are prepared for a little saliva saturation from the ferals. Great fun, win or lose. Some of my fondest memories are from sitting near/next to Collingwood fans. Waverley Park, when Gavin Brown kicked a goal after the qtr time siren (which wasn't paid) I happened to be right next to the Collingwood cheersquad. They were going nuts. Was that fun or what?!?!?!

I prefer to sit along side and be greeted by people in red & blue against collingwood. At least I can understand their vocabulary by them speaking with a clean set of teeth.

It's only when they're doing well and their supporters are turning around and trying to gloat in your face. But you don't get too much of that in the MCC.

Concentrating on the game makes putting up with the pies supporters much easier.

Collingwood sit at the Ponsford end at both away and home games at the G. So Melbourne will be at the Punt Road (South Stand) goals. Beyond that, anywhere you sit will be pretty random in regards to support.

Those of us with reserved seating become very spoilt and picky I reckon.

We form a 'relationship' with the people we sit around year after year, and you get used to having that atmosphere around you.

Playing at the G' as the away team is a pain in the arse in that case, because if you want to stay on level 1 you have to settle for a crap view by sitting behind the goals, or you gotta go up to level 3.

Unless of course you can now sit in the Southern Stand again when you're the away team...? (pre-renovations we'd sit there regardless of whether it was our home or away game, but during the renovations we were never let when it wasn't our home game??)

Brian Wilson during the 80's would send the Filth Supporters completely off tap. I remember a couple of finals well. Sitting next to Collingwood supporters!!
