Membership Growing

Yeah the Bunnies have done really well both in sponsorships (which Russell helps with inordinately) and memberships. They have built a great community program up and it is now up and running, predominantly for Aboriginal and inner city kids (which are usually lower income) and this generates enormous good will, as it should, and therefore income.

Oh you're right my friend, but I would miss the beach and the sun and that kind of stuff ;):P !!!

Last time I checked we're in dire need of rain (for the last 10 years), yet you've had plenty of it up there.....any chance we can swap the weather and let us have all the rain?? :D

As of today 26, 492.

Wow. Stigga you're sensational. It's like groundhog day with you. aka Bill Murray.... . Giving the latest updates and all.

Another 530 joined up yesterday, which is apparently a club record, plus we beat Collingwood (which is always a handy bonus :D)

We're now sitting on 27,128. Not long to go now!

Also it was great to see players getting involved. Both Belly and Blease (who was busy sending a text ;)) were standing at the scarf table when we went up to collect our scarves, which I thought was a nice touch.

I had a quick chat to Stef when I was buying my membership. It was great by the club to have the players there, accessable... Even if like Stef, they were kind of shy...

Tell me something Fellow Fanatics. I had Famly issues on sunday & could not get to the game (plus all cabs were in albert park!) Out of the 28,000 people at the game what was the crowd Ratio Us & them?

Judging by the boos or cheers when free kicks were awarded - I would say significantly more us than them!

This is why i say North Cannot Survive more than 5 years. Beautiful Day Round 1 Last Year top 4. Wayne Carey Comes Home....etc etc & they still pull less than 10,000. to the 'G

That is pathetic & they must be concerned. It's a major concern.

2 new clubs in 2 years makes it that much harder to win a flag.

If there were 10,000 Roos fans there I'd be very surprised, very.

Loads of kids there too!

They made the Finals last year & cannot get anyone to the Home of Football on a cracker sunny day. Bye Bye North, off to TEAC oval time.

While there were long and deep queues at the MFC membership tents at Gate 3 or 4, you could walk right up to the NM desk and buy a membership straight away.

I reckon their future is dim and has always been so despite some people getting carried away with a one year membership spike.

Decisions have to be made because what are there attendances going to be like on a cold wet Day?? Elsternwick Park gets more people than North.

We were lucky Stynesy & co seems to have given us the new lease. But for North it looks Bleak. We should have beaten them too!! Grrrr

I think thats pretty rich mate.

I mean lets face it, MFC really isnt that far behind.

MFC just got great new sponsors, got Jack Watts, heaps of debuts, reducing the debt, etc etc and we couldn't even pull 30,000 to the G, R1 on a beautiful day.

The Kangas have 24K odd members, and thats pretty much all they have!!!

I think were the ones that should be a little concerned.

c'mon guys...lets get ourselves out of debt before we start to point the finger.

even though we had more than the roos, we wouldve hoped for more than mebourne supporters at the G than that. 28,000 is embaressing for two victorian clubs.

Hey They Made Top 4 Last year-we got the spoon & they cannot pull a crowd. WHY & how are they going to change it $ 40+- Mill goes through an AFL club per year now.

I am not saying we are in the clear but North are in trouble.

If they ever bottom out they won't come back.

Not when a 100,000 people were watching an International Grand Prix at 5pm it wasn't. I thought we did alright. The AFL gave that to us on purpose.

It was a terrible effort from the Roos fans yesterday, we easily out numbered and that's saying something. Also noticed that the cheersquad was back where it belonged on the wing, and behind the goals is a different membership group? Looked a hell of a lot better.

North Melbourne supporters were dwarfed by Melbourne supporters on Sunday. Not just outnumbered, but comprehensively dwarfed. By Melbourne supporters. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that I have never been to a game in Melbourne, against a Victorian side, where we so clearly outnumbered opposition supporters. Sydney draw larger crowds than that in Victoria, and even Brisbane arent that far behind when they're playing well. It was sick.

I have a soft spot for North Melbourne for reasons I wont bother going into, and genuinely want them to survive, but Sunday was an ominous sign.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
