  1. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that he's 'right on track'.

  2. Dees not united, is that right Wayne? Wait, are you the guy that slept with his best mate's missus and had to quit his club?

  3. You mean you'll know what he tells you. And he could tell you anything he wants. In conclusion, you'll know no more than any of us here. But cool.

  5. I made a separate thread for this to highlight the lazy journalism here. Carey uses this as the sole reason we'll lose rather than actually analyse the teams and the game.

  6. Because there is nothing else to talk about.

  7. Agree. Let the media call us wimps and see if we answer as a united team on the ground.

  8. Sunday's game is significant in more ways than one, as we recognise The Reach Foundation in the Round for Reach. By donating $11 (or more, if you can!), you can help us raise $111,000 to support Reach + young people in the community. To donate http://mfcde.es/2FPLc4R Get behind this great organisation that Jimmy started. It was 8 years ago (can you believe it) we lost this great man.

  10. Whats the point of his training reports if he is posting false information on here? Claims he knows the extent of the Viney injury but is keeping it a secret... yet he posts on here multiple times that Vineys right on track. Credibility shot to pieces. His reports are worthless. 'Fake news', you could say.

  11. No, you don't. You think you do, but you don't. Also, @Grapeviney's post was quite funny. Why you can't see the humour in it is anybodies guess. Edit - also, the Tom McDonald injury is further proof that you have no idea what you're talking about. You've waffled on all summer that if they get any sort of niggle, they go into the rehab group. T Mac had a problem with his toe prior to the JLT, he didn't go into rehab and made it worse. Why wasn't he put in rehab like everyone else if he had a niggle?

  12. Right, so you ‘know’ and don’t choose to share, yet continue to post “he’s on track” 90,000 times, as a means to shut posters up who are continuing to question the nature of the injury. Makes complete sense.

  14. Carey is pretty tight with J Hogan, I hope he hasn't got mail from him, it's quite possible it's true we are not united. Anyway, I was getting tired of all the tyre pumping going round the media, a little more negative commentary just might unite them ironically.

  16. This is exactly why we have Pedo on the list, for his bulk & experience, and his willingness to do a job for the club, when required. He's almost our best servant. We all wanted him resigned last year because of his honesty and we wanted to repay that. We did, and now we need him already. Seems a contract very worthwhile already.

  17. My questions for Mr Misson are: If Tom McDonald is feeling so much better now after 10 days off legs then why wasn't he given 10 days off legs when he first felt sore 8 weeks ago? AND Why did he play in the AFLX shambles at on the Etihad car park if there was knowledge that he had any sort of niggle that could be exacerbated by a firm surface?

  18. But the Roos were united, in their anger at Wayne.

  19. So all we know is he has a foot injury and will miss the first round or two. Everything else in this thread is just baseless panic

  20. It won't be anything like the noise we'll make when Trac kicks the sealer early in the first quarter.

  22. I think we have enough forwards to cover for TMac in Hogan, Pederson, Fritsch, Hannan , Garlett, Melksham and Harmes. Weve also been training for players to play multiple positions so a few of these will also rotate through the midfield, it’s one of the strengths that will make us hard to play against this year.

  23. If we beat cats this week our next 3 are lions, Roos, hawks imagine going in against Richmond 4-0 as they could very well be in the same position would push 95k crowd if that happens. Actually 1 week at a time lol

  24. I agree with this, and with my albeit limited exposure to medical personnel in the afl - in addressing things that even THEY don't know a prognosis for, the only thing they choose to do is wait. So in essence, the medical team, advised by JV's pain experience will proactively be waiting... until inflammation subsides...as they too don't know (not through ignorance, nor malpractice, simply because JV is a sample size of one that every treatment and recover is unique to the individual).

  26. I'm fascinated that the AFL's own website can be this critical of a current player. On the one hand, it's to be admired for its honesty; on the other it's hardly helpful to one of its contracted players. (I wonder also about the AFL's OH&S liability if a player it criticises like this subsequently suffers from depression). On balance, I think the AFL shouldn't be publishing these sorts of stories. That's what the media is for.

  30. It wasn't. Simple. Which but don't you get? Watts was a bust after 9 yrs and 150 games. He was a disruptive influence both on his own behaviour (rehab, team rules, training habits, after-hours habits and putting his head over the ball/appetite for a contest) and from a media and supporter scrutiny point of view. Elite skills, yes. Elite habits, no. The team could not rely on JW. He was best gone.

  32. How about you ask Tyson, who dislocated his knee and had to continue walking/ running as there was no medical assistance in attendance How about you ask Hibbert who had a heel soreness but had to continue walking/running as there was no medical assistance Missed the first 4 games. How about you ask Salem who had concussion but had to continue walking/running as there was no medical assistance and had concussion issues throught the year, but that camp toughen them up really well didn't it? I don't get your last comment? Who was my favorite small from 6 years ago?

  36. Is it worse than we think? Short answer: No. Long answer: Noooooooooooooooo. They are just being cautious after they (Viney, coaching staff, medical staff) rushed him back too soon. No need to put his season in jeopardy by doing it again. An almost certain starter for Casey this weekend.

  37. Jesus mate..... Have you ever been on one of these camps? The main aim is to break you down and then rebuild you to a point where you usefull for a cause ie battle I have been on a few and all I got out of it was crook as a dog and praying for it to end. I am no tougher than I was It was a debarkle last year. 3 players reported in the first couple of games, not the leadership we wanted at that stage but were they tough? I don't care what the media says about us......We will get done this year and we will win some gutsy ones so even is the competition. When we do lose it will have nothing to do with a camp not held months ago.

  42. Might be difficult, but go with me on this... maybe he did all he needed to do and left the track early as the club is being cautious with his recovery.... oh, that’s what Guthrie said! My bad, I thought from all the panty sniffing here it was reported that he had his leg blown clean off or something. No news is not always bad news......

  44. I think he carried a plantar fascia injury for a long time. Not unusual for an AFL player but certainly that alone would've taken some toll on his body even pre surgery. Then there were rumours of a toe injury before what became (or always was) a stress fractured metatarsal. Not an expert by any means but I can imagine that after the period of time off weight bearing they had to then make sure that not only was his metatarsal ok but that his plantar fascia had healed. Then there's the impact on ramping up training on the rest of his legs - soft tissues, knee etc. I'm willing to believe the club when they say that as of Monday there wasn't any set backs with the foot injury/injuries but some associated niggles to carefully monitor. I'm also thinking those associated niggles can carry on for a fair while yet.

  45. Load Bearing bone injuries The PSI (pounds per square inch) on foot bones is an incredible stress that the foot is built to take, but after injury healing can be so hard. This does not look good...remember how long Hird took to return, and he was on juice ? back then

  47. You're embarrassing yourself. For his size his speed and agility is exceptional. What do you watch ? Dangerfield is the fastest player in the AFL. He makes Hunt look slow. Hunt can't match Jordan Murdoch and Dangerfield makes Murdoch look pedestrian in half-time GF sprints. Judd's speed was also elite. Martin's speed was one of his elite traits in his draft year. He ran 2.89 seconds for the 20 metre sprint. Ablett's speed is good, but not in the class of the above. 3 seconds or less for the 20 metre sprint puts you in the top 20% at draft combine. Petracca ran 3 seconds flat, which for his build is exceptional and he'd be quicker now having been in the AFL system for years. Some comments on Petracca pre-draft (different links): "When he goes forward, he proves to be an extremely difficult match-up: he's strong on the lead and tricky at ground level. His quick thinking in tight spaces is elite, and he also has leg speed to get out of trouble or hunt down opponents." "Despite carrying much more weight than most midfielders his age he has elite agility and evasion with an excellent sprint." St Kilda FC ✔@stkildafc Christian Petracca has just completed the 20 metre sprint! The result: 3 seconds flat. #AFLCombine 6:00 PM - Oct 1, 2014
